Ohio

Red Ball Pick 3 promotion starts

Ohio Red Ball promotion runs from February 1 - March 1, 2008.

For this promotion, a total of 7 additional balls will be placed in another draw machine. At each drawing during the promotional period, the host will draw the numbers from the Pick 3 machine. Immediately following that draw, a separate drawing will be conducted from a machine that contains 7 balls, 6 white and 1 Red Ball.

If the Red Ball is drawn, the prize payout will increase by approximately 20%.

Any time that a white ball is drawn, the white ball will be removed from the machine in subsequent draws until the Red Ball is drawn. After each Red Ball is drawn, all 7 balls are placed back in the machine for the next draw. The Red Ball will be drawn at least once every 7 draws.

Promotion includes both Mid-Day & Evening drawings.

South Carolina

Tickets on sale for new MegaMatch 6 game

Tickets for South Carolina's newest lotto game go on sale Monday, February 4, 2008.

With MegaMatch 6, South Carolina becomes the latest state to introduce a "Match 6" style game, in which the player can win multiple times by matching the numbers drawn to more than one line of numbers.

Jackpots start at $550,000, and continue to grow every time none of the tickets sold match the top prize.  Once a ticket wins the top prize, the jackpot starts again at $550,000.

Here's how to play MegaMatch 6:

  1. Select six numbers between 1 and 37 on your betslip, or mark the Quick Pick option to have the lottery machine generate random numbers for you.
  2. In addition to the six numbers you select, the lottery machine will automatically generate two more lines of six Quick Pick numbers for you.  All three lines together — the one you specify plus the two Quick Picks — is considered one play, and costs $5.00.
  3. Drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 6:59 PM Eastern Time.  Results are posted to the South Carolina Lottery Results page within minutes of the drawing.
  4. You win a prize by matching 4 or more numbers on one line, or by matching 5 or more numbers on all three lines combined.  You can also win multiple prizes by matching more than one combination.  For example, you can win a $20.00 prize for matching 4 numbers on one line, and if you also match one number on each of the other lines you win an additional $10.00 prize for matching 6 numbers from all three lines combined.
  5. You can purchase up to 10 consecutive draws by marking the multi-draw option on the betslip.

Louisiana

Tickets on sale for Millionaire Raffle

The odds of winning $1 million have never been better for Louisiana Lottery players starting Monday, Feb. 18. That's when sales begin for the Lottery's first-ever $10 raffle game, Millionaire Raffle.

Like a traditional raffle game, only a limited number of tickets will be available — 300,000 to be exact — and when they're gone, they're gone. On April 15, one $1 million winning raffle number will be drawn from those sold, along with five numbers worth $50,000 and another 500 numbers worth $500. In all, 506 players will win $1,500,000 in cash prizes.

"With its large top prize and mounting anticipation, Millionaire Raffle is the perfect game for friends and co-workers to play together and share in the excitement," said Lottery President Rose Hudson.

Based on the excitement of its retailers and the popularity of lottery raffles across the country, the Lottery is expecting the game to sell out well in advance of the April 15 drawing. In fact, results from a recent online Lottery player survey suggest the likelihood for a quick sell out is high with 91 percent of respondents saying they would purchase a raffle ticket.

Raffle numbers will be generated in sequential order from 000001 to 300000. Players can purchase more than one raffle ticket at $10 each, but each number will print on a separate ticket.

"For security purposes, we strongly suggest that players sign the back of their ticket immediately after purchasing and treat the ticket as cash, securing it until the drawing," advised Hudson. Players must present their original winning ticket by Oct. 11, 2008, in order to claim any raffle prize.

Odds of winning the $1 million prize are 1 in 300,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 593.

Millionaire Raffle tickets may be purchased legally only from an authorized Louisiana Lottery retailer and only by those age 21 and older.

Complete game rules are available on the Louisiana Lottery's Web site.

Millionaire Raffle drawing results, including a listing of all 506 winning raffle numbers for all three prize tiers, will be available here at Lottery Post soon after the drawing at 3 p.m. on April 15.  (Raffle results are normally the same day or the next morning.)
