A Rushville, Indiana couple on Monday claimed a $15.7 million Hoosier Lottery jackpot, 12 days after the winning numbers were drawn.
Ryan and Mary Beth Emerson claimed the prize from the Dec. 29 drawing.
Ryan Emerson said he had gone to a Speedway near his house to change a $50 bill and decided to buy a lottery ticket, which turned out to be the winner.
He said he saw the newspaper headline that said there was a local winner of the drawing, but figured it wasn't him. Finally on Friday, he checked his numbers.
The Emersons are both going to retire soon as nurses at Miller's Merry Manor in Rushville, about 40 miles southeast of Indianapolis. They have three grown children.

They'll be able to retire only if they take the cash.
