An Arkansas man said his seven children are full of suggestions after he won a $1.4 million Missouri Lottery jackpot.
"The kids are giving us lists for things like bigger televisions," said John Gilbert, 49, who presented his winning ticket from the March 26 drawing to lottery officials last week.
But Gilbert and his wife, Maria, plan a more practical approach. The couple from Harrison, Ark., plan to take the prize in one lump sum payment of $700,000 before taxes and invest most the money for their retirement.
Gilbert bought the winning ticket when he stopped for gas at Rapid Robert's in Ridgedale. The gas station will receive a $14,000 bonus for selling the ticket. The winning numbers were 2, 18, 19, 24, 34 and 43.
Maybe MO was right when they didn't sign on to Hot Lotto.
With seven children he probably could have a use for the money he won.
He deserved to win.
someone won who needed the money for once.
I'll drink to that.
we need more winners like this one....
...more winners who choose cash.
i agree with you,i want it all up front....
every now and then there are winners out of state for a change...
maybe arkansas will get a lottery someday......
It will.
