Tennessee Lottery Tennessee lottery retailers would also reap the benefit of a winning ticket under legislation that's moving through the General Assembly in its final days.

The House Budget Subcommittee and House Finance Committee Monday passed a bill that removes the restriction prohibiting additional compensation to lottery retailers for cashing lottery tickets or shares.

The legislation could be scheduled for a vote on the House and Senate floors one day this week.

Lawmakers are hoping to adjourn by Friday.

A great incentive to eliminate money-order and check payouts.

I'd prefer real money, but as long as I get paid I'm happy.

I hope this law passed the general assembly before the FBI came in and arrested about 10% of Tennessee's State Senators!!

Ouch.  I hope so too.  Then retailers can be less strict on the players.  Some retailers are very picky.  They are uptight about cashing in free instant tickets for online games.  But some retailers have no problems with it.  I wish they would make a set of rules that every retailer has to abide by.  The TN lottery said it was up to that retailer how they cash in free tickets.  Some retailers will give you the money.  Some will cash in those tickets for other tickets and some if they don't have the same type of ticket you have they will not cash it for you.  Thankfully I know which retailer does what.

CASH Only

I would too.
