Powerball Lottery Jackpot Jumps to $148 Million

PowerballPowerball: Powerball Lottery Jackpot Jumps to $148 Million

The jackpot in "America's Game" jackpot continues to grow.

Even though the grand prize was not awarded in Saturday's Powerball drawing, one lucky player in Colorado won $1 million with Power Play, plus 698,748 players across the nation won a total of more than $7.2 million in prizes.

Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday's drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $148 million.

The cash option for the Wednesday, September 28th drawing will be an estimated $73.4 million.

The numbers drawn Saturday evening were 2, 10, 31, 43, 55 and the Powerball was 14. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Six players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000. Their winning tickets were purchased in Arizona, Delaware, Missouri (2), New Mexico, and South Carolina. One lucky player in Colorado not only matched the 5 white numbers, but also purchased the Power Play and multiplied their $200,000 prize by 5 for a total win of a cool $1 million cash.

Thirty-six players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Three additional winners of that prize category also purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $50,000.

More than 78,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Saturday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier.

Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels.

Players purchased more than $28.8 million worth of tickets between Thursday and Saturday night. The lotteries sold approximately 2 billion in Powerball tickets in FY05. That translates into more than $600 million for worthwhile state projects.

I would like to know if you receive a winning if you get the powerball and the pier correct.

Sometimes PowerPlay works. One dollar additional investment for $800K. I do good to get the PB alone, let alone five out of six.

    Cheers

      What is the "pier"?

HAPPY 9/26........to all my proud LP & MM members

"The Power Play multiplier was 5"US Flag

I believe  "713" is referring to the above....If I understand the way it works.....if you have just the powerball by itself you win $3.00, I know I have. However, in order to gain any benefit from the "Multiplier "...you must have the first "5 numbers correct in sequential order" and have the correct multiplier number as well. This can actually double, triple.....ect your winnings.

Which means the first "5 numbers" without the powerball will win $100,000. If you played the multiplier number as well, and it was correct...then it will increase you winnings.........

However, if I understand correctly.....there is no benefit in just having only the Powerball & Multiplier number, because the Multiplier number only supports the correct first 5 numbers.

It does not benefit the Powerball Number by itself.  Additionally, the Multiplier Number does not increase your Powerball winnings, which means  for example: that if someone wins $$$148.00 mills,  which is the current estimated jackpot...the multiplier does not benenfit the powerball winner.

No, the Power Play (multiplier) just means that if you buy it (for an extra $1 per ticket), any non-jackpot prize you win is multiplied by the number drawn (2-5).

If you're not sure about any feature of Powerball, you should go to USA Mega.  The FAQ page has Power Play info.

$55M take home money is a huge sum of money. Would never get me close to being a Billionaire, but then I don't want to be a Billionaire. Just a Millionaire. Why set goals difficult to achieve!

                Cheers

Well congrulations to the person in CO winning $1 million despite not hitting the red PB jackpot. I hope that PB reaches 340 and then 365 million and one ticket winning it all. MM's recent record attempt failed when a NJ couple won a 258 million jackpot.

365 million in powerball isn't the same as the 363 million won in the Big Game. It's more like 305 million.

Thank you everybody for answering my question. I gave some number to a friend in La and he did not call me about his winnings. Maybe the weather was the problem. However, it does not matter. IAM here to serve and give the gift of your hearts desire. May you all receive your hearts desire. Where ever your heart is so shall it be.

                          September..29th

Todd.....You and I are basically saying the same thing.....If the player doesn't play the multiplier and lets say he does get the first "5 numbers correct"...he cannot double his winnings...But if he does play the multiplier and get the first 5 correct, absent the powerball, he can double his winnings......However, he " must " get the first 5 correct to do so.....

Maybe, the context of  my initial blog, got lost in translation somewhere...LOLOLOLOLOL....

I do play the Multiplier when I play the powerball in the District......
