A lottery company had to call the police to convince an elderly German woman that she had hit the jackpot, police said on Tuesday.
"The woman had quite a sizeable win but was worried that she was having her leg pulled," said Joachim Gerhardt, a police inspector in the eastern German city of Gera.
"We were fortunately able to convince her so she could celebrate her good fortune," he said, adding that the woman would probably receive her winnings before Christmas.
Media reports said the woman won a "five-figure" sum, though Gerhardt declined to confirm that was the case.

Maybe she thought that she was being conned by the "Canadian Lottery" hustlers...street wise lady. Good for her.
Good to hear that an elderly woman was not getting robbed in this case.
Good for her. A rare person, thinking for herself and refusing to jump into the pool of emotion!
Congrats to the lady! Glad to hear she was careful... glad to hear she won!
Wise, wise woman. So many of the elderly are scammed! Good for her and I pray that she uses her winnings as wisely as she was reluctant to claim her 'prize'

I hope the next time I get pulled over by a cop, s/he tells me I won the lottery
BTW on my recent California trip, I was stopped twice, but didn't receive a ticket either time.
