you shouldn't have to go to south carolina because it too is a megamillion state. you can get a ticket there for 26 drawings in a row but you don't need to go there because you have it right at home.

i believe powerball is in tennessee and yes that is a long way depending where you live in georgia. i would go down to florida and get a 52 drawing ticket there. that i would do if i had the time and the money.

love this because people are talking about powerball.  time to answer some more posts.

South Carolina is a Powerball State.  Whenever I'm in Augusta, I go across the state line and I'll buy some tickets.

I've lived in GA since it started the lottery and as far as I know, GA has never been a Powerball state.  It was the Big Game and then it switched to Mega Millions.

    Not true, Toney725

Georgia indeed was a Powerball State.

It dropped Powerball in favor of The Big Game...

Here is the timeline for GA regarding Powerball and the Big Game/ MM..

      June 29, 1995

To celebrate its second anniversary, the GLC brings Powerball to Georgia. Tickets for the twice-weekly (Wednesday and Saturday) on-line game go on sale today. Georgia is the 19th U.S. lottery to participate in Powerball, a multi-state lotto game that offers players nine ways to win. The GLC's sales for its second year total a phenomenal $1.42 billion.

      August 31, 1996

The Georgia Lottery leaves Powerball and joins The Big Game. The Big Game is a new multi-state game with five other states participating. Tickets for The Big Game go on sale.

May 14, 2002Final drawing held for the Big Game, as the GLC retires this game in order to start a new multi-state game, Mega Millions. There was no jackpot winner, so the $19 million Big Game jackpot rolled over to the first Mega Millions jackpot.

you are 100 percent right and i am wrong. i have only purchased there one time and i forgot it was truly a powerball state. i don't get to that part of the south often any longer. i want to because my grits supply is running low. i might have to call my friend in rock hill to get me some more grits.
