Georgia Lottery's Millionaire Raffle tickets going fast

Georgia LotteryGeorgia Lottery: Georgia Lottery's Millionaire Raffle tickets going fast

More than 40% of available $20 tickets have been sold

Raffle games have become the hottest lottery item of the holiday season, and the Georgia Lottery's Millionaire Raffle game is no exception.

After just two weeks of sales, more than 40 percent of the game's tickets have been purchased. Georgia Lottery players have their best chance ever to win $1 million, but time is running out.

Millionaire Raffle is a limited-time game from the Georgia Lottery with four $1 million prizes. A total of 500,000 tickets will be printed and sold in numeric order until they are sold out.

A computerized drawing on December 31, 2006, will randomly select Millionaire Raffle winners. Four tickets will win $1 million each, paid in a lump sum; five tickets will win $100,000 each; and 500 tickets will win $1,000 each.

The odds of winning any prize in the Millionaire Raffle game are 1 in 982. The odds of winning one of the four $1 million prizes are 1 in 125,000. The odds of winning one of the five $100,000 prizes are 1 in 100,000. The odds of winning one of the 500 $1,000 prizes are 1 in 1,000.

Each Millionaire Raffle ticket costs $20.

Draw results for the $1 million and $100,000 prize levels will be announced during the 6:59 p.m. Cash 3 Evening drawing on December 31, 2006. Complete results of the 509 winning raffle numbers will be available on the Georgia Lottery Web site and at Georgia Lottery retailers.

24 days left and still more than 250,000 tickets remain.

I wouldn't call that "going fast", but the GA lottery officials might.

Does seem like the raffle lotteries offer the best odds; probably why they sell out so fast.

I agree, Dumars 798---  They will not sell all  500,000 tickets by 12/31.

However, they will not have the drawing until all are sold, so who knows how long that will be...

Let's just say for discussion sake as of the drawing cutoff time on December 31st they have sold 450,000 tickets.  That would leave 50,000 tickets unsold, those numbered 450,001 to 500,000.  Do they still do the drawing on the December 31st?  If so do they just make it from a pool of 450,000?  Are all the prizes still offered?

Would expect many raffle tickets to be last minute stocking stuffers, also bought with money received as Christmas gifts so a rush on them the last week.  Good luck to all holding those tickets or contemplating buying them!!!  Big Grin Santa

                  Good luck to everyone!
