The numbers on Lottery Post are presented in sorted numeric order, unlike the Florida Lottery, which just threw them out there unsorted.  Hopefully they'll fix that, because it's easy to miss a winner if they are unsorted.

Too bad they can't take a few tips from you, Todd.  I didn't buy a ticket, but when I signed on today to the Florida site, I was automatically redirected to the page with the raffle numbers.  I thought that was very strange since some members here said they were having trouble accessing it and I wasn't even looking for it.  Very weird. I used my bookmark which always goes directly to home page. At that time they only listed 3 of the million dollar winners and then skipped to #12 which was $100,000 winner.

Sorry, DoubleDown.  I was hoping someone I "know" would be a winner.  Maybe Emily hit the GA big prize?

(edit:  just tried it again and I'm not getting the home page. I get the raffle results and then need to click on a link to the front page. I'll try cleaning out my cache, but I'm just going to www.flalottery.com)

It's not easy to miss a number you're looking for if you know how to use your browser's find feature.

Oh, OK thanks for clearing that up.

I actually thought it was a good idea to show the numbers in a way that they could be easily be referenced, but you quickly debunked that myth, thanks so much.

Thanks, JXP... Maybe next time... I appreciate the thought anyhoo.

My stepson and daughter- in- law live in Ormond Beach,  and their raffle ticket was a dud too...

By the way, I did hit a $5 scratcher for $1000 Friday and went and got the check today, so it was a very good way to start the New Year !!!

Emily said she struck out too...

I didn't say it wasn't a good idea, I only said that your web browser (as well as plenty of other programs) offer a simple and accurate way to check the list for the numbers that you'd be interested in, regardless of the order it's in.

I assume that when you say "easily referenced" you mean easy for somebody to look for a particular number.  Finding a number that would make me a winner is the only reason I'd have to reference anything on the list, and I could care less about all the other numbers. Even if they put the list in numerical order it's still easy enough to make a mistake while reading the list, but the find feature in your browser is unlikely to make mistakes. All you have to do is type in the proper number, and if it's on the list it will be found. The find feature will also check the entire list in one shot, saving you the trouble of checking your number against multiple lists for the different prize levels. Even with a list in numerical order I'd think that's the easiest way to check, at least if you only have 1 or 2 tickets. For somebody checking 10 or 20 tickets it might not be easier, but checking for 10 or 20 tickets gives you a much bigger chance to miss a number that actually wins something.

Is it a good idea to put the list in numerical order? Sure. Is it a problem that it isn't in numerical order? I don't think so.

If anyone is interested, if you go to the FL site now and click on "News" they have published a list of the million dollar and $100K winners and the locations in spreadsheet form with the number and the retailers where they were purchased.  Here's a sample of what it looks like. If someone won the $10K prize, he'll have to look at the other list, but if I had a ticket and thought there was the slightest chance I won $10K, I'd spend the time studying it. I was just curious if anyone in my area won. (yes, but about 20 miles from me on Radio Road)

You're fine in everything you say , up to the last sentence.  It may be fine for YOU, but it is not fine in general.  Some people may not be aware of the find feature, or they may want to print the numbers to look at them or bring them somplace else, or maybe they'll type the number incorrectly into the find feature, or a dozen other things.  Some people like yourself will sit there and proclaim that everyone should do things a certain way, but that's not reality.
