PLANT CITY, Fla. — Investigators assembled at a Plant City, Fla., home, to look for evidence that the dramatic saga of a missing lottery winner ended in his murder.
Law enforcement officials from Hillsborough and Polk counties converged on two neighboring yards along Highway 60 near Farkas Road, just west of Turkey Creek Road.
Detectives with metal detectors are combing the scene, looking for evidence in connection with the case of long-missing lotto winner Abraham Shakespeare.
The dig marks yet another twist in the case that has made headlines across the country.
After winning the Florida Lottery a few years ago, Shakespeare was accused of stealing the winning ticket from a former co-worker. A jury took just two hours to clear him, and he walked away with $12 million, after taxes.
But Shakespeare has been missing since last April, and detectives say a significant chunk of his money seems to be gone, too.
His mother said she hoped that he had simply moved away to enjoy his winnings, as he told her he planned to do. But Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd believes Shakespeare was murdered.
Polk County investigators have named Dee Dee Moore as a person of interest in the case, and Sheriff Judd has gone so far as to call her a "con artist."
Detectives say Moore befriended Shakespeare, set up a joint bank account, and a few months later, moved the money into her own account.
Monday, a Lakeland police officer was arrested for allegedly providing her with confidential information about Shakespeare.
One of the properties being searched is owned by a staffing company run by Moore; the other is owned by an attorney with connections to both Moore and Shakespeare. Investigators say the dig at the scene could take several days.
"We all have a lot of unanswered questions that we're trying to get the answers to, and we just don't have them yet," offered Colonel Albert Frost of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
I can think of a few reasons to kill somebody but for their money ain't one of 'em. Gotta wonder how somebody lives with themselves after that.
Sure sounds like Dee Dee is involved and I wonder what happened to "Big Man" the guy he gave a million dollars to? Then there's the guy who sued him saying he stole the ticket from him. Could he be involved? Amazing how winning money can make you wind up dead sometimes, with numerous potential perps.
Curse of the Lottery seems to strike yet again.. This guy was in hot water as soon as the judge awarded him the $$$ it seems 2 me...
and we are not even talking about the stock market or the forex...
You know i knew crime is involved in this sort of thing...how i know? 1 of the guys older guy who acts in the movie Law and order, he is also making comercials about Ameritrade...Anyways i forgot to mentioned it here in LP but i read an article on the net that says that lotteries are coming up with some kind of I.D or encryption I.D that when someone wins the lotto it makes sure is the person on the picture that bought the ticket...I always felt it to, if you won: 100 million dollars hire swat guys or police men to take care of you...Gated community is not enough...They have to understand: in a particular state: There is only like 3 ways you make lots of money overnight...Win the Lotto, become a celebrity i cant remember the third...There are more ways to make money but it will take you: 20 years or 30 years unless you live in New York...Dude that occured in the USA now imagine other countries...The state lottery doesnt want to believe me that there needs to be more: Powerballs and more Lottos...
you may think i am a smart dude because of the systems that i have posted..WAnt to know something...since i´ve been writing systems lots of people have visited my dad people that just come in to the house to throw lines at me i hear them over and over no sign of respect...and i have not won the lotto...people who purposely visit my dad and talk to him to come and visit just so they can throw me a line when they are talking, my dad can´t pick it up because he REALLY thinks they are talking to him...we had had more visitors in the last: 7 months than in my entire life...They are very ingenius how they throw the line a normal person will not pick it up...

Is just like having a super georgeous wife that ranks 98 out of 100...I´ve been around a good friend, a very good friend where i got used to his girlfriend and when they broke up, suddenly came a super hot chick tall too and i was next to my friend and and they sat next to each other she in the middle, out of a suddenly all sorts of crazy thoughts start creeping in my mind and i though friend of mines dont ever leave me with this girl alone not that something will happen but still thoughts begin to creep in your head...Same thing is with having 100 million dollars your wife´s cousin might have known you for a long time and know you have 100 million dollars and out of nowhere thoughts begin to creep in his head about you...

i wonder under which bank name and under whose supervision eyes..still guess WORK..people are free to do what they want..There got some people that even PAY for the priveledge...
The thing is, even if you were allowed to remain anonymous: no press conference, press release, no photo, you're still not entirely safe. Anyone, including predators, can request the name and info of the winner of any prize, and the Lottery has to release it.
What's wrong with this guy,Abraham Shakespeare ?. Abraham trusted Dee Dee Moore,with his home and money.I can't believe this story.It seems almost all the time when someone wins big in the lottery , bad people come out of the woodwork and will try any thing to get the money from the winner.
They just found human remains in the spot they believe that Abraham was buried.
