Regardless of whether you think I lied about it, I still stand behind what I wrote. She/he called me an ignoramus, and I called her/him a dumbass. So what's your point?

No, what she said is agnostics call themselves ignoramuses by the very definition of the term (ignorant).

Then you mocked her for posting Scripture and called her a dumbass.

What I stand behind (my point) is that you lied about it.

And you know you did.

Now go ahead and add another lie to the pack you have going.

That makes perfecttiming even more of a dumbass for making things up about the word AGNOSTIC.

    Below is her definition:

    IGNORAMUS

So basically, anyone who boast about being an "agnostic" is calling themselves an ignorant, know-nothing, uneducated person.....OUCH!....(I can see why some atheist want to downplay the usage of the word altogether).

    Below is from  Merriam Webster:

    Definition of AGNOSTIC

    1
: a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly: one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god
    2
: a person who is unwilling to commit to an opinion about something <political agnostics>
    ag·nos·ti·cism \-t?-?si-z?m\noun

    Examples of AGNOSTIC

    1. Even polytheists … were in fact tolerated, as Islamic rule spread to most of India. Only the total unbeliever—the agnostic or atheist—was beyond the pale of tolerance … —Bernard Lewis, Islam in History, 1993
    2. Supporters of education vouchers … will love what Norman Macrae has to say on the subject. Teachers' unions and other opponents of vouchers … will deplore it. Voucher agnostics (and I include myself) might find that the proposal not only answers most doubts but also makes sense on issues they've never much thought about. —William Raspberry, Springfield (Massachusetts) Union, 14 Aug. 1987
    3. I call myself an agnostic. I do not really have any faith, any coherent religious faith, and yet the one thing in my life that I feel passionate and evangelical about is poetry. —Maxine Kumin, An Interview at Interlochen, 1977, in To Make a Prairie, 1979

    Origin of AGNOSTIC

You really believe I sit at this thread all day long waiting to see a new response?

I have a life. I go to other sites, like check my email, or browse the other forums on this site.

Maybe I have to go take pee.  Hit With Stick

"Maybe I have to go take pee."

Whose do you take and do they know about it?

I think that may be illegal.

      Definitely sick though.

Unknowable is subjective. If you don't know something, you're ignorant of it.

And because something is unknowable to you doesn't mean it's unknowable to me.

And your edited texts don't carry any weight anyway.

        Soooooooooo...

Are you finally admitting that you lied?

Not knowing is based on lack of enough information to conclude whether a God exists or not.

For you to know for sure based on the available information is really just faith, nothing more. The great minds of history, much more intelligent than you and I, have debated this to this day, and no evidence has ever been provided.

It's blind faith. There's nothing wrong with that, but I have the right to opine on the subject.

            Here's another definition below.

            What is an Agnostic?

            What
is an agnostic? An agnostic is popularly defined as a person who holds to a
middle ground between atheism and theism who also believes that the existence of
God is a definite possibility but it is not within the realm of one’s knowledge.
The term agnostic is a combination of the Greek prefix a meaning
without and gnosis meaning knowledge. Thus, an agnostic is
one who confidently affirms, “I don’t know.”

            Agnostic
            Origins
The term agnostic and the accompanying philosophy of agnosticism
            was introduced by Thomas
            H. Huxley
, 19th century biologist, philosopher, speaker, and one of the
first and foremost defenders of Charles Darwin’s “Origin
            of the Species
.” Huxley clarified the philosophy of agnosticism in a
series of essays published in 1889. He wrote, “Positively, (agnosticism) may be
expressed: In matters of the intellect, follow your reason as far as it will
take you, without regard to any other consideration. And negatively: In matters
of the intellect do not pretend that conclusions are certain which are not
demonstrated or demonstrable. That I take to be the agnostic faith, which if a
man keep whole and undefiled, he shall not be ashamed to look the universe in
the face, whatever the future may have in store for him.”

Nope, I didn't lie. You just want to argue semantics.

No, he referred to Huxley, who originally coined the term. Maybe If you do some research you'd wisen up.

No, Huxley isn't my God because I don't have any Gods. I'm an open minded human who is spiritual to some extent, but that's where I draw the line. I believe there is a universal intelligence out there, but it's a collective one.

Why do you keep making me repeat myself? I already said a thousand times that you have every right to criticize me, and a short time ago we agreed to just let each other write what they want. But something happened to you when you saw a response, I forget which one, and then you went back to your old self again.

The only thing that I asked was that If you want to criticize me, why don't you stay on the subject and stop interjecting rediculous and irrelevant cheap shots about my ethnic backround? If you really believe that will give you an upper hand in all this, you are sadly mistaken.

I don't care If you keep ranting, I'll always be there to reply. Except when I'm at work, because I no longer take my laptop with me to work.

Good, now you can go to church on Sunday and tell the guy in the booth what an idiot you were on Wednesday. Then once he clears you, you can come back on Monday and start your crap all over again because you know that on Sunday you can go and clean it all up.

                    What a deal !

Now you know why I laugh at the rediculous rules certain Christian factions have.  It's so convenient for you. Just sin like there's no tomorrow, but not to worry, Sunday is just around the corner.

Silly Christians and their multitude of different rules matching individual agendas.

I'll tell you what, when all the different versions of Christianity band together and agree on the same rules, then I may take you seriously. Until then, it's a failed attempt to convince me how great it is. Especially If you claim to be a representative. That makes it even more unbelievable.

Yes you did and everybody knows it. Quit embarrassing yourself. Be a man.

You say I shouldn't  believe anything written in a book called the Bible but you want me to believe something written in a book by some dork named Huxley?

Why? Is he your God? Why do you believe him? Why should I believe him? Where's the proof? Why does he let 20,000 kids die every day? Did your little green men tell you he's God when they were giving you tonight's numbers? What about the light years and the galaxies?

Listen, my only reason for being involved in this increasingly tedious exchange is to try to get you to understand that I can criticize what you say the same as you can criticize what Christians say.

                      And I will.

                      Why can't you understand that?

I just don't get you. It's a definition by a man who coined the term. It's not whether I believe him or not, it's just a definition.  For crying out loud, stop digging at the bottom of the barrel already. It's pointless. Perfecttiming used a definition I've never seen before, so I went and got one...so what? You keep trying to twist things around.

It's like If someone asks me what the definition of apple is. Someone at some point created that word. So do you go around telling people you don't believe the word apple is correct because it was written by someone you don't know, so you're not gonna use it anymore? See how stupid that sounds?

Why don't you think before you try to make an anology.

That's my opinion. Does it make sense to do whatever you want to do like call me names because as you say, you're a chief of sinners, and drink like a fish, of which the body is a temple of God, and then go to church on Sunday and wipe the slate clean, only to start the whole process over again because you know Sunday is around the corner. If you really believe you're getting away with all of this, well, you're the ignorant one. Sinners are supposed to better themselves no?.....not use the system with confession as an excuse to keep sinning.

I can absolutely point out the contradictions If I want to. Just like you have the right to call me a wife beating caveman cab driver from Iran.

Hey, quit whining about ethnic background bs when you call somebody a hillbilly, pal.

I am a hillbilly and proud of it. But cab drivers from Iran don't get to call me that.

It really doesn't bother me; in fact it is used more as a term of endearment around here nowadays; it's just that I don't afford you that privilege.

Everytime you open your trap, you dig yourself deeper into the hole.

Maybe you should go back and re-read your Bible.  It seems you have yourown customized version. You're nothing but a hypocrite. You're not a Christian. You only pretend to be a Christian.

You should be ashamed of yourself for calling yourself a Christian. Pathetic....Thinking of...
