For only the 13th time in the history of United States lotteries, a lottery jackpot run-up has crossed into $300 million+ territory.
The new high-water mark of $310 million for the current Powerball jackpot was achieved after no winning tickets were sold for Wednesday night's $250 million grand prize.
The lump-sum cash payout value of Saturday's Powerball jackpot is $193.4 million.
The mammoth prize is the result of 13 draws without a winner. The run-up started as a $20 million prize on Dec. 28, 2011.
The winning numbers for Wednesday, February 8, 2012 were 17, 28, 38, 39, and 51, with Powerball number 33.
Even though nobody won the jackpot Wednesday, 5 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 1 from Georgia, 1 from Missouri, 1 from Nebraska, 1 from New Jersey, and 1 from North Carolina.
None of the second prize winners had purchased the Power Play option for an extra $1, which would have increased their second prize win to $2 million.
64 tickets matched four white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Of those tickets, 12 were purchased with the Power Play option, increasing the prize to $40,000.
When a Powerball ticket is purchased with the Power Play option for an extra $1 per ticket, any non-jackpot prize is increased according to a fixed prize schedule, which can be found on the Powerball Drawing Detail page at USA Mega, as well as on the Powerball Prize Payouts page at Lottery Post.
Powerball is now played in 42 states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets cost $2 each.
Powerball lottery results are published within minutes of the drawing at USA Mega (www.usamega.com). The USA Mega Web site provides lottery players in-depth information about the United States's two biggest multi-state lottery games, Mega Millions and Powerball.
Top 25 United States lottery jackpots of all time
Saturday's Powerball jackpot currently stands as the 13th-largest lottery jackpot of all time in the United States. That position may rise before the drawing Saturday night, as lotteries are typically conservative in their initial estimates, and brisk sales may push the jackpot estimate higher by draw time.
If nobody wins Saturday, it's anyone's guess how high it will go.

- Powerball: $259.9 million, Aug. 19, 2009 - South Carolina

For those keeping score, the number of jackpots in the top 25, by lottery game, are:
- Mega Millions: 11
- Powerball: 12
- The Big Game: 2
The Big Game is the original name of Mega Millions, from the game's first drawing on Sep. 6, 1996 through May 14, 2002. The name was changed to Mega Millions starting with the May 17, 2002 drawing.
curiouser and curiouser........
I wonder when and whar the next lucky strike will be .......
good luck to all of us here @ LP
For only the 13th time in history. Love that number 13! Has alway's been lucky for me, not to mention I was born on the 13th.
Any predictions for Saturday's jackpot? I would conservatively say $400 Million. That would be a $251 Million lump sum. In my "LIVE, FREEZE THEN DIE"
state that translates to about $188 Million after federal taxes only. Wouldn't that be a nice Valentine's gift?
I had forgotten about some of those larger JP's. Had a $4 winner, so I'm closing in on it . . .
Really starting to believe that it's rigged...I mean come on people:
Mega Millions Winning Numbers 2/7/2012 17-23-30-37-45 (04)
Powerball Winning Numbers 2/8/2012 17-28-38-39-51 (33)
The number schemes are nearly identical! What are the odds that two separate lotteries with different numbers picks & crazy odds draw almost the same identical number pattern on consecutive days?! A: ASTRONOMICAL!!!!! But I'm sure they will LET someone win when it reaches at least a $400m advertised annuity! That's why I haven't spent a dime in this run yet!!!
The numbers are nothing alike, plus you are looking at them in sorted order. You are going to make the claim the Mega Millions and Powerball drawings are both somehow rigged to produce similar number sets? How does that make any sense at all? Why in the world would the lotteries even want to do such a thing?
I'm definitely buying a ticket today!
Well, at least I picked the powerball (33) I had one other number also (17). Bummer that I didn't have more.
I had a $4 winner too ... maybe we'll share that $310M.
The thing is, my $4 winner was a 1+1, not just the PB. I wonder why Powerball counts 1+1 as a separate prize level in the new prize structure when the prize is identical to 0+1. There should be something extra for matching one of the main draw numbers in addition to the Powerball.
[Edit]: MissDiana, I had the same - 17 and 33..
Had nothing BUT my dry streak ends this saturday with a jackpot win.
I just realized... MM is listed 8 times in the Top 10; PB only 2! I always thought it was the other way around! I guess PB does a better PR/advertising job.
As someone who plays one QP at a time and never used a system, I guess I need a little lesson. How are those two sets of numbers "nearly identical"? If you can break it down for this newbie in a few sentances, I'd appreciate it. I don't see it.
$300M makes me dizzy. Good luck this week. I say two winners next Wednesday. Please sign your tickets.
Because they can if they wanted to. And it's people like you that believe that it can't occur is the very reason they make so much money!!! It's like they are laughing at the masses! Keep believing if you want to!!!
Noticing a high number of member "Conspiracy Theory" agenda's. Whatever happen to common sense? Because numbers do not come out to your perceived patterns or expectations don't go crazy with the "rigged" cope outs.
I think I hear the numbers laughing @ us all
I can't begain to fathom what to do with all that loot
Sorry clicked on wrong post; meant for Reign22.
I also hit the 33 PB! Can I now make the claim I won the Powerball???
The numbers are alway's laughing at us. While we sleep........eat..........work. They enjoy taunting us with their clever "stick it to you" patterns of deceit.
I can fathom......come on hearsetrax........use your imagination!
You won the POWERBALL but you didn't win the JACKPOT. Does that work for you? Lol!
I like the way I say it better!
How does $125,710,000 + after Federal Taxes sound?
Sounds like fun to me!
As usual dpoly you did your math. Almost $20 Million for state taxes though....OUCH!!! Still sounds good however. Enjoy.
One of these states will win the powerball..idaho, washington state, iowa, west virginia, south dakota, north dakota, maine, new hampshire, maine, oregon, nebraska, wyoming, vermont. 300 million is a lot of money to fall into the hands of the wrong demographic. If it doesn't hit in one of those states..it will hit in a store that caters to certain demographics.
$310 million, now we are cooking with gas.
I wonder if this thing might go to $500 million, that would be something.
we all believe reign 22 that you are insane. those numbers are nothing alike except 1. it is not fixed. what would be their reasoning to fix it and how could they. please tell us what state hospital you are residing in so we can stop your trips to the lottery store. you are bonkers. totally completely gone in the head.
I had 17, but as the Powerball number.
Not sure what you mean by the "wrong demographic". The lottery is random, so everyone has an equal chance of winning, no matter where they live.
A state or a store does not win the lottery, people do. I will never understand the obsession with a particular "state" winning the jackpot, other than it being fun to see someone close to home win it. Saying that a particular "state" won to support the notion that the lottery somehow controls who wins is the same as saying that the lottery is rigged. And that is not supported by a shred of evidence.
Since lots of jackpots are won in liquor stores, does that mean the "drunk demographic" is targeted by the lottery to win a lot? Or does it mean that a lot of lottery tickets happen to be sold in liquor stores? What about the jackpot that was sold in the porn shop? Did the lottery decide that they needed a winner from the "porn demographic"?
With paranoia you never have to dine alone!
Yes lotteries have been won everywhere, including my hometown. 30 mill, 50 mill, 80 mill, etc, but 300 million takes it to another level. When it hits 300 million, people say wow! When it gets this high, those states i listed usually wins. I forgot to include minnesota.
If i am wrong, i will be the first to admit it, but if i am right, my conspiracy theory looms on.
200 to 300 million states that i know of..min, sd, idaho, washingon state, west virginia
I guess you think the lottery is rigged then. You are certainly entitled to that opinion. I just don't think there's any evidence for it.
Sure, the jackpot could be won in any of those states. You included several states on your list, and accumulatively I'm sure the players in those states will purchase quite a few tickets so they have a good shot at winning. But any player in any state has an equally good chance of winning, so I'm not sure what it proves.
The funny thing is that there are just as many conspiracy-minded people who say that when someone in a big state like New York wins, that's the lottery controlling where it is won. But you say that when a jackpot is not won in a big state, then that's the lottery controlling it. So no matter what happens, I guess the lottery is controlling it, and a cinspiracy exists. Whatever.
would be nice if it reach to close to a billion dollars jackpot.. would be record breaking and exciting ..what are the chances and posibilitys on that ??
The QUACKS are losing credibility
I had 17,too.But the other five numbers eluded me.
There should be a "Like" button for comments!!!!
LOVE it, mcginnin56!!!!
Thank you so much dk1421; hey I like that number! I'll play that as one of my pick 4's this evening. (A straight pick only, need that $5K)
Not in Pennsylvania!
No State or Local Taxes on Lottery winnings!
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
In Pennsylvania, only name & town are required, no pics and press conference are required ....................
I had 39 and 33 and am majorly ticked that the prize is the same as matching just the PB that I got for the last draw. I hate this!
Hey dpoly1, are you refering to the new jackpot of $310 Million? By the way I stand corrected, you are absolutely right, their is no state tax in PA. The reason I was thrown off is by your math.
If the jackpot is won at the pressent $310 Million, the lump sum would be $193,400,00.00. Without state tax, the only deduction would be the standard federal 25% or $48,350,000.00. That should be coming up with $145, 050,000.00 (correct?)
Nobody is buying FL Lotto, the jackpot went from 2 million to 3 million. Very Weak Sales.
You are correct. But unless you mitigate your tax burden, you are responsible for the highest tax rate of 35% at the end of the year.
LOL! Todd! Good points!
Target is now running a special on new glasses. Perhaps you should pay them a visit.
That is the withholding. Come tax day 2013 you'd owe Uncle Sam another $19.34 million more or less, depending on your tax situation (charity and other deductions could reduce your taxable income).
But until tax day (14 months away) you'll have that additional 20 million to do something with and earn some income off of.
Big Big Big
You are a scholar, I am a fool.
This may be only the 13th highest jackpot size. But to me what the lottery people advertise as "jackpot" is really irrelevant. What counts is the cash value of that jackpot. So how does this compare with the highest winning cash value?
I told you the new Powerball will go above $300 million.
Predictions: The New Powerball Jackpot will reach $300 Million!
Sorry to break the bad news to those states, but I already have a winning ticket for the next drawing here in Illinois. P BHO connection karma....bring me those winning numbers. Oops...I haven't donated to his cause so I guess I am SOL and DOL...but then again that latter category puts me in the same boat as that guy who won Illinois Lotto with last bucks in his pockets (disclaimer: I am not that down on my luck, but things sure could be $190 million better come Sunday!).
Also, check the stats...It is Illinois' time to shine with a single winner.
I would be a bit bummed to be one of those 64 waking up this morning and seeing I only missed one of the field of five numbers! Would be homicidal if the missed number was 1 +/- from the drawn number! What I would want to kill are the 'lottery gods'. (I had to insert that so the FBI, DEA, ATF, CIA, IRS, FCC, etc did not come knocking on my door or even the TSA putting me on the 'no fly' list!)
Oh and the whole thing about the Powerball being rigged is ignorant.
Thanks Babel, you have educated me well.
Live a normal daily life for the next month, and have a little fun watching big media go nuts trying to find the winner.
Based on cash value (which I agree is the better comparison), the current Powerball jackpot is the 6th largest. The list of the top 46 jackpots is posted on my blog. By the way, I only list jackpots that were won.
Good luck.
Make anonymous phone calls to convenience stores telling them that you bought the winner there but it was lost or stolen.
Thanks!
It's all about what I am taking home at the end of the day.
Predictions: One of these 5 numbers can show for Sat. draw:
18, 29, 39, 40, and 52. Good luck everyone!
Hehe, imagine all the people trying to use that excuse at the store where the ticket was bought, if the winner decides to hold off a little while before filing a claim.
It can't be all that bad for media by choosing to claim privately under a trust. There would still be tons to write about on all the opportunists coming forward, lol!
Todd, i can take this states thing a step further,i joke around that in jersey all winning tix are sold in bergen, essex, and hudson counties,
i know its not true cause i can recall at least 2 big winners in cape may county, and 1 in atlantic county,
that tic. was sold in a store less than a mile from my house,
but in the news it seems like its always the first 3,
i suppose thats cause they sell more tix in those counties that are closest to nyc.
for anyone that thinks the lottery is rigged i wish they would explain the mechanics of the riggings,
Thanks for the info, but - your blog? When I click "Mario38" then "View Mario38's blog" on this site I get the following: "Mario38's Blog has 0 entries (0 private) and has been viewed 0 times."
It's probably better not to encourage him. It only leads to him throwing the thread off-topic, since he finds it impossible not to try and get the last word on everything.
keep tryin you wont win if you dont play....good luck..
don't do it, if the lottery thinks the tic. was stolen it could complicate making your claim.
Great point. It is interesting to contrast the lost ticket claims from Connecticut and the mystery from Iowa. No need to stir the pot. I'm sticking with the plan mentioned in another thread about keeping a store receipt that shows the location, date and time.
the lotteries are almost as rigged as carnival games.
Come to think of it, I never win that water pistol game where you try and pop the balloon before everyone else, and I also never win the lottery jackpot, so maybe you're right.
Hey kyokushini87, Your almost as rigged as Bernie Madoff, except he looked a lot prettier than you.
So is his statement that the cash value of the current PB the sixth highest cash value correct? And is there some place that does list that kind of information? Sorry, but until the past week I hadn't been around much for a couple of years, and I've not been familiar with what's been going on either on Lottery Post or in the lotteries in general.
According to the list I maintain, it is correct. I only list jackpots that are won. For example, the previous Powerball jackpot was large enough to make the list but was not included because it was not won.
The current Powerball jackpot is only $0.6 million behind 5th place. It will most likely reach 5th place by draw time. To find the list, search for "Mario's largest jackpots".
Good luck.
Stop being such a cheapskate little guy.
The advertising rates are very reasonable here.
And before you try to trick anybody into sending you money out of the country, remind them of how much you hate Christians as you stated in a thread saying you wish they'd all be raptured so you wouldn't have to deal with them anymore.
So I'm sure you wouldn't want any Christians sending you money out of the country where they'll never be able to get it back.
Ah, now I better comprehend what is going on. Sometimes one has to be around a bit before one understands the positions from which different individuals are speaking.
Personally, I tend to ignore anything that refers to online lottery sales since Washington State prohibits online lottery ticket sales and Internet gambling. I have no idea how many other states do so as well.
Uff Da!, you are wise to avoid buying lottery tickets online. It is hard enough to win the lottery. But to find out later the lottery company will not pay out the prize because the ticket was bought online would be the greatest of disappointments.
Isn't that why Powerball made the big change this year, to ensure they were going to have bigger jackpots?
Yep, the little guy's here to drum up business but he's so friggin' cheap he doesn't wanna pay for advertising so he just uses his little innuendoes to direct unwary members to contact him and get them to send money out of the country to him. And once your money's out of the country, that's it, it's gone. And he knows nobody's gonna get a lawyer to get 50 or 100 bucks back through international legal channels. And he hates Christians.
Mario38 is correct that this is the 6th highest cash jackpot from MM & PB. I was curious what the answer was before he had made his post so I took Todd's list and tracked down the cash option on those drawings. Here's the list, sorted by cash (the first number on each line). Towards the bottom it could be missing a few that had lower annuities but higher cash prizes but the top 15-20ish should be reliable.

think about this dood.
if someones willing to rig a game for $2 plastic cupie doll, imagine what efforts they would go to to rig a $100M game?
Babel, where did you look to find the cash values for those draws? Some of your numbers are different than mine. I got my numbers from the news stories that were published at the time of the draw.
Thanks.
Oh here and there. Some from google searches looking for the press releases when winners are announced. For the last 7ish years you can get alot of the info from Todd's other site USA Mega (for example Mega Millions drawing detail history is http://www.usamega.com/mega-millions-history.asp). Powerball's official site has the cash option down to the penny in their winner's stories section. When you look at the final sum it's often off by as much as a few million from what is advertised pre-drawing since that is an estimate based on what they think sales will be. For example the June 29, 2011 drawing was advertised at 76M annuity/40.2M cash but after all the sales were tabulated the jackpot was 77.1M annuity/40.8M cash (which so far nobody has claimed).
I see you joined LP the same year as I did. Welcome back. Maybe you brought back the good luck that I have been waiting for.
I have a confession, I haven't spent a dime on PB since 2012 started. I think I'll spend $2 and see how it goes. I was inspired by those people who hit the JP and on the press conference say they only play once in a while. It used to get me really heated so I decided to join them.
Wow did this Jackpot grow fast. I'm guessing that Powerball going to $2 is going to see a lot of Jackpots well over 150 million as the norm...I'm also guessing it won't be long until Mega millions follows suit.
I caught the Powerball twice on 2 QP's for $24.
Gonna let it ride.
Yeah the way this is going MegaMillions is definitely going to go to $2 also.
No need for any one here at lottery post to purchase a ticket because I bought the winner today here in Mcminnville, Oregon at the Big Apple store. I am going to put them on the map the lottery map that is! Oregon winner here I come! Yes! Wooo hooo!-weshar75
Thanks for the welcome. With PB at this level, I finally decided to fork out a few bucks myself. As Rdgrnr would say, I'm normally too cheap to buy tickets since the price went up to $2, but with a jackpot like that, heck, one could support a whole clan! I'm an old-timer and wouldn't really have that much use for it in my own lifetime, so I've started playing mostly games with lower jackpots and far better odds. But the thought of leaving an estate of that size to the next two generations and to local charities has a definite appeal. Yeah, a trust with annual income going to the relatives (so those who can't manage money can't blow it all at once) and the remainder upon their deaths to charity - that sounds mighty good. Estate taxes would be high, of course.
I guess, the executives and players (lol) made good on their promise. A drastic increase in the jackpot size DID occur. Now, should we reach the $400 million territory (assuming we have a rollover), even the non-believers will be enticed ergo, lots of sales that will push the jackpot margin much, much higher.
I am watching for now, I decided to stay away from the game for a bit but should any of the LP members win, I sincerely wish you the best of luck. P.S., seek legal counsel and establlish a trust, it is getting scarier more than ever to have ANY kind of wealth.
Mario38 - Thank you for your condescending hatred of Conservatives. History tells us that the Progressives of the 1920's were firm supporters of the Fascists. So much for superior "abstract reasoning!" Kindly stay up there in "Intellectual Paradise!"
I'm gonna win this one it is my turn to shine. Put the haters to shame! Money come my way........woot woot.
I'm a new member but I kept on checking this site is really cool.
I imagine $300,000,000+ jackpots will become a lot more common considering the odds are now 1 in 350,447,020.
I hope if they do, they also increase the lower tier payout amounts too.
PowerBall only increased the payouts for matching the bonus ball by $1 and left all the other payout amounts the same as they were. Matching 5+0 already paid $1M when the ticket cost $2 and the lower prizes were at least doubled too. No wonder now there's more money for the jackpot.
I really hope MM does NOT go to $2. After all, they have 8 out of 10 in the top ten winning lotteries in the US.
I tried to buy my PB ticket today, but the lottery was "offline". Guess that was one way for me to avoid buying a losing ticket and wait for the best time to buy a winning one!!!
$113 million after taxes in Ga! I'm gonna keep buying tickets till I win or somebody else does. Then the waiting game begins agian. How much do yall spend each year? I know some play every week, a few who play when the mood hits them, and a bunch that wait till the jackpot gets big.
LOL, he's a great business man, ain't he?
First he says he wishes all Christians would die and then he uses a fraudulent critique of Conservatives as being haters and racists as his signature. That oughta get people from a majority Conservative and Christian nation to send him money! Heh heh heh heh heh.
What a dope.
ok. I think Virginia or Washington, DC is way overdue for a PB win. I spent 6 dollars and bought two PB tickets and got the powerplay for the first time. But I got a free megamillions ticket also.
I bought one QP since everyone was talking about Qps here (although they are always bad for me). Then I did something different and did not study the past numbers to see what was overdue and trending, and instead, let numbers pop into my head.
Tacoma washington is gonna take this one! thanks for contributing
Everybody do not worry i got this one.
I think I remember hearing that DC takes a huge confiscatory chunk out of lottery winnings in taxes.
You might be a lot better off buying your tickets in Virginia.
Everthing you post is a lie. Always.
EDIT: Nevermind.
Well, you were definitely pointing a finger at conservatives. Rest of it, I am not sure at all. Still, honestly I want to stay away from Ridge's wrath. He has a God-given talent to find out what makes others angry and pushes the button. :(
BTW, I live in 'the redneck capital of California'. But it's still cultrually and racially diverse and I respect other people's...stuff. And I work as a stagehand. I meet all kind of people. Even when I was in the military, I met a ton of non-religious servicemen, who proudly served this beautiful, patchwork-like country. Heck, one of my favorite NCO was a Black Buddhist. Most of people in my shop were not overtly religious either. It took me years to find out that most of Christians are just culturally so. As for me, my religion is the one that Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson allegedly believed in. And it's said that Abraham Lincoln has some leaning toward the religion I belong. And I share a similar view on God with Thomas Paine.
I know that this nation was built on mostly theistic principles. But do major population really follow the principles? It's up to debate. Well, let's face it. America is a de facto Christian nation with huge regional religious discrepancies. Atheism has practically no place in America, although more people than they admit practice atheism. Maybe someone can argue that we can kick out all the atheists and make the country a better place. :D Yeah, I believe that America will be a whole lot more interesting country if we do away with atheists. ;)
Well if what I say is always a lie, I'll just quote you and see if it's still a lie.
Best lottery advice anyone can give you..Reply
Too bad. I was hoping the rapture would have happened on May 21 and then all the stupid religious people would be gone off this earth. The remaining people would be a lot better off. I now hear we have Oct 21 to look forward to. I am keeping my fingers crossed. One can only hope.

Now who's lying, little man?
2 dollars per line means fewer lines sold if people keep their budget at same level.
Fewer lines cuts the possibility of a winner being drawn.
This jackpot could continue up to the 500 million mark or higher.
Scary as hell, but I'm up for the challenge! And always up for some fun! I plugged $193,400,000 into the moneychimp tax calculator for 2012, single, and taxes come to $67,666,761 for a net payout $125,733,239. O_O
I hit the PB 33 3 times last night... twice on the freebie $3 QP with power play. Altogether, I won $28 on Wednesday's draw, plus I found another ticket I forgot to cash in for $4, so total to cash in is $32. I'm all in... let's win this thing!
Regarding the cash value of the jackpots, they are skewed a bit by the difference in the annuity years between MM and PB.
Where is the word Christian in that quote?
And if you're gonna say that was a lie, here's the link, little fella: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/230898/2070018
LOL, nice try, little guy. Very Clintonesque.
"It depends on what the definition of "is" is."
"I did not inhale."
Who exactly were you referring to, numbnuts, the Whirling Dervishes?
Because that's who we all relate the rapture to is the Whirling Dervishes, right?
Typical lib spin but there's no lying your way out of this one, little man.
Spin away, you're busted.
Liar.
OK, so you are saying you did believe the world was going to end on May 21 and then again on Oct 21. To believe that makes you a Christian? So what is your next best guess?
I know a way you can make your prediction more accurate. Stick a gun in your mouth.
I think when they researched the study, they spent most of their time in your neck of the woods.
Ridge's wrath, that tickled me gogidolim, lol.
I'm not religious either gogidolim, I just get sick and tired of these idiots running around the country saying the sight of a cross "offends" them and they want it removed immediately. I say screw 'em, if it "offends" you, don't look at it. Let 'em go live where the majority of people aren't Christian if they're so "offended". We're Christians here and you're gonna see a lot of crosses. Get over it.
Good luck, gogidolim!
PS. I didn't know there were any rednecks in California!
I just got done sayin' I ain't religious, you hateful little runt.
But I believe people can believe whatever the hell they want in this country without interference from little third-world pukes like you.
So go piss up a rope.
i did inhale but gave it up by the time i was 19.
as usual you're making most of us laugh,
i used to call it "clintonian times" LOL.
Yeah, I think the little guy studied him.
"I did not have sex with that woman, that Monica Lewinski."
YOU DIDN'T?
"Well, it depends on what your definition of "sex" is."
Libs, lol, they're all the same.
Where'd little mario the moron go?
Oh yeah, to piss up a rope.
The poor soul...
He's just too high strung, that's all.
u made me spit out my grey goose on that one. ur to much!lolgotta steal that one.hope u don't mind.
ridgerunner, what does "piss up a rope" mean ?
i love old time sayings and my parents, havin grown up on farms & ranches, had a millon of them,
many times when i was really young i would hear a double meaning,
ex. "you can't be to careful"
as an adult i know that means, exercise the most caution,
as a kid i thought it meant "take a chance"
either way,it worked out .
DAMIFIKNOW, I think it's just the southern version of "Go jump in the lake." I guess I shoulda asked before all the oldtimers passed on. They all said the same stuff all the time. If anybody ever come around lookin' for somebody, the answer was always the same - "He went to take a sh*t and the hogs ate him."
OK when my sister stopped by today, she said "i never noticed the little alligator (its a fiberglass model)in your garden
but you are right,i also should have asked more ?s
The odds are 1 in 1.4 billion for a quarter play; the cost of many break open. Or 1 in 17.5 millioon; the cost of the popular scratch ticket.
haymaker,
We were plaiyng Army out in the woods in Germany and this one night it snowed and snowed and snowed.
Our section chief told the first guy up to go outisde of the tent and see how much it had snowed. He was a farm kid from Illinois and came back in the tent and said, "Sarge, the snow out there is hub deep to a ferris wheel".
"Pissing up a rope" is something that only males can do.Females can't do it.It's a sexist reply to "women can do anything a man can do".Women might be able to do some things that a man can do,but can they piss up a rope?
Todd ,Iam glad you asked the question as to why is this person talking about demographic, which was starting to offend me, especially when he list these city which didn't make any sense and so what will happen if it " fall in the wrong demographic" insane I tell you insane. I have never had to response to this LP member.Excuse! me but there is an unline something not right about what is being said and not being said.If you ask me it's not that the lottery is rigged.
With all due respect Todd , I could say that about some other members on the LP.
One turns EVERYTHING political, then throws personal insults at anyone who dares disagree with His Majesty. I can't even finish reading threads when he gets involved.
Saturday!
One Ticket!
One Person!
I would be very happy as a member of the "1%"
Thank you very much!
± $125,700,000 in the bank ......... $$$$$$$$$$$$$
I am hoping for a bump in the jackpot before the drawing Saturday ............
don't think of it as ostentatious ......... just sharing the wealth with the hard working people the build, sell and maintain luxury items!
Yep. There's a billion and one sites where folks can engage in personal mud-slinging over all things political. Why it needs to be done on here is beyond me. And spare me the pap about 'freedom of speech' or some such nonsense.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow night.
I agree!
We go from talking about a $310 million powerball jackpot to Obama..Osama and somebody's Mama.
Talk about a DERAILER
thanks for clearing that up, i'll try not to use that in mixed company.
"...why is this person talking about demographic, which was starting to offend me..."
Holy Goodnight, Louise, if you spend your life searching the world and parsing everybody's words for something to be "offended" by, you'll never be disappointed.
But you'll spend the rest of your life being "offended" by one thing or another.
Life is short, why not just relax and enjoy it?
I hope you win the Powerball and are never "offended" by anything ever again.
Let us know when there's an option to play for a quarter. The other multi-state jackpot game costs $1 for each chance with odds that are virtually the same as PB. My chances of winning that game are twice as good for a $2 bet as my chances of winning PB. Sensible people balance risk and reward, and the cost of a chance is therisk. Comparing PB with MM, the PB odds *are* 1 in 350 million.
I'm pretty sure you prefer your players to be stupid instead of well informed.
Then you'd be an idiot not to block the person.
Just as I'm sure plenty of people blocked you after you referred to Mormons in your state as rodents.
Why you want to persecute people for their religious beliefs in a lottery forum is beyond me.
Perhaps you could explain.
"...spare me the pap about 'freedom of speech' or some such nonsense."
A lot of good men died fighting for that freedom of speech that you call "pap" and "nonsense" you ignorant little moron.
Why don't you take your ignorant, useless little self somewhere they don't have it and see what happens when you start spewing your worthless prattle?
OMG! Another lib on the bandwagon!
Tell me something scrooge, are you gonna want your money back, you free riding, cheap-ass, skinflint tightwad?
Or are you just here for the free stuff like all your lib buddies?
Can you translate that into PA speak?? What are you talking about?
Good luck to these people participating in this game. I hope the Powerball Jackpot rolls.
I,for one, like his responses.I need a good laugh sometimes and I can usally count on him to supply one.I hope he continues putting liberals in their place.
Ah, no thanks. I think I'll keep coming back. I understand you might be used to running people off on here. Ain't happenin' this time, Cisco... Good luck! With the Powerball, I mean...
Judging from the number of second place winners, there's good chance it will roll. Use to be and still is with MM, you would see groups of 10 or more second place winners before the jackpot was won.
You pegged me wrong.
I am so not a liberal and if you knew me well and my views you would know that.
I just wanted to stay on topic for once.
I enjoy a good laugh as well and totally agree he's good for one.
Hope you get 'in the money' tommorow...
I use it in mixed company all the time.I like to see the look of confusion on the faces of women's libbers.Yes,their still out there babbling about how they can do anything a man can do.Anything but piss up a rope, that is.
Back to thread topic.
Isn't it kind of rare to get a $300 million from one ticket? When the jackpot is that big, a lot more people throw their name in the hat.
It almost never happened. Probably once or twice. I am not sure.
Well, Jack Whitaker comes to mind, for one.
Actually if you exclude thiscurrent jackpot, it went over $300m 12 times and of those 12 - 50% (6) of those wins were by individuals or single ticket holders (accounting for instances where groups won)
I saw his interview a couple of years ago and gave me the impression that he is not the sharpest guy in the bunch. Actually a lot of businessmen succeed with tenacity and guts, not much with intelligence.
$310m is OLD NEWS. The Powerball just went up another $15m!!!!!!
SKY HIGH POWERBALL® SALES LEAD TO SATURDAY'S JACKPOT
JUMPING TO $325 MILLION!
I can see the future 2/12/2012....... I won three hundred and twenty-five million dollars. I am in shock somebody dial 911 I will be excited scared overwhelm...
Thanks. I did not know that! I assumed I just paid VA and federal taxes. So I understand then if you buy a ticket in DC (non resident), I have to pay the difference in the state tax rate (5% VA...DC is 8%)...so my "surcharge" is 3% more! I will try to stick to buying tickets in Virginia now.
Funny thing is if you look at the high PB jackpots vs. the high MM jackpots the MM ones seem to be hit by multiple winners and the PB ones tend to be solo winners.
You're welcome, Artist77. Yes, I think you have that about right.
Oh, we all know you'll keep coming back, Princess. Afterall it's free and you're a lib and libs love free stuff because you're all cheapskates. So kindly tell us something we don't know now. Your cheap ass wouldn't be here if you had to part with a dollar. If there's one place you'll never be, it's somewhere you actually have to pay to get in. You must be a real hit with the ladies, scrooge.
And I ain't never run anybody off here but I'd end your tenure in one second flat if I was runnin' the show just for what you said about our Constitution, punk.
Fact of the matter, Princess, is that calling our Constitution and Bill of Rights "pap and nonsense" might be considered slick in your limp-wristed democrat circles up there in Ohio, but waltz yer pansy-ass down here to east Tennessee and it'll get yer teeth kicked in.
Believe that.
Show me where I took the topic from a $310 million Powerball Jackpot to Obama, Osama or your mama and I'll kiss your ass, you lying little lib S. O. B.
Careful,your jealousy is showing.
If you buy a ticket in one tax jurisdiction and in another you can always expect to pay the higher rate. The state that sells the ticket is entitled to income tax, because it''s income from that state. Your state of resdidence is entitled to income tax because you live there. Buying a ticket in a place with a lower tax rate isn't a problem, but you should have a really good reason if you buy in a state with a higher tax rate.
No, it's not a jealousy. He really DID sounded like a unrefined man. I got sick of him when I heard him say that he gave his granddaughter thousands of dollars for allowance every week. Smart guys don't do that.
Would that be the Tennessee waltz? Sounds like fun! Well, you have a good weekend and keep on smilin'...
I'm always smilin', sonny boy.
NOBODY knows how they would react after winning that amount of money, not you,not me,nobody. You might think you know, but you don't.
No, the interview was commenced AFTER his granddaughter died of overdose, which was an indirect result of lottery winning.
Jack was already a MILLIONAIRE before he won the PB jackpot. True no ones how they would react, but I'm guessing the PB stole his brains because he didn't go wild with the millions he made himself.
pick4master,
Today's "Tin Hat" award goes to you.
..............................identity of 325/mil JP as yet ..????....?
Actually I have thought about that. But there's a possibility that all the lottery winners are tracked and watched over by the government, just in case that the money went to 'an undesirable element of the society.'.
A few days ago I joked about a winner buying a rogue nuke. But...it may not be a laughing matter. There are millions of people in good ol' America who are willing to obtain and use the bomb for whatever reasons. And as a lottery player I don't want that kind of stigma.
Sadly, it was not sold in one of those states.
But I was wondering if a Rhode Island supermarket fits the profile of "a store that caters to certain demographics", according to your prediction. Just curious.
I don't think they have a lot of minorities in Rhode island.a least I didn't see any when I visited.
So what are you saying? Does that have something to do with "certain demographics"? Does it mean those "certain demographics" were "selected by the lottery" or not?
(Lest anyone thinks I am serious, I say all this with heavy sarcasm, as the whole thing is beyond ridiculous.)
could be. I 'm not that nieve to beleive that the lottery commission doesn't have some hand as to when a jackpot is hit. do you think the casinos aren't rigged to keep u to dising in quarters. some believe the lottery isnt rigged somehow and some do.like I said before. I put the lottery and casinos in the same barrell with the carnival games,as far as being rigged or not.that's just my take on it. not trying to convert anyone.
As all lotteries in the US are monitored by third party independent accounting firms, which have no connection or affiliation with any state run lottery or government sector; I suspect that the carnival clowns must be the one's responsible for the complexity of the deceit, smoke and mirrors act that is being pulled off in front of the hundred's of millions of American's in our country every day.
Wow kyok........you are in a carnival barrel of your own league. But because we encourage free speech and non censorship.....please continue to
erode what little credibility you have left.
