CT Lottery officials announced Monday that a Powerball jackpot winning ticket from the June 23 drawing remains unclaimed. The ticket was sold in New Haven County. The winning numbers on June 23 were 1-3-41-44-53 and a Powerball of 30. Nationwide there were 421,685 winning tickets for the June 23 drawing. Of those, 7,953 were sold in Connecticut. One of those matched all six numbers correctly. This latest win is the eighth Powerball jackpot win in the state and ranks as the second largest prize won in CT lottery history. In Nov. 2011, a $254.2 million jackpot was won in the state. Lottery players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim a winning ticket. Saturday’s winning ticket will expire on December, 20, 2012. NBC Connecticut

For some reason, they changed that policy in the past few months.

I have this habit of checking this site first to see if anyone won -- and where -- instead of just checking my numbers. It was pretty much the same deal as November 2011: 'Jackpot winner in Connecticut!' I jump up, run to get my tickets and return with lost breath, only to have what little of it I have yanked out of me. Then the tears start.. well, not really. Congratulations to the the winner(s), though. The ticket was bought in New Haven, which was somewhat surprising. I hope they're smart with their money and enjoy every second after that nice deposit! | | |
