But the number of 2nd place winners goes up a lot, like last time, when the Jakpot is high. The extra dollar is worth it.

I Agree!

I all the time be doin' like that.

"I'm expecting a zero return on all."

And the odds are that your expectations will be met.

    Good luck regardless!

Thanks, lol. When your expecting to lose you have nothin to be mad about when it happens!

notice how top 4 record jackpots  have more then 1 winner

out of top top 10"number 9th without a winner atm"  6 of them have  2 or more winners

if this baby rolls, going by mega chart shows it going to 500m range

1 rollover away form a other godly monster.  now we 320m i think we start seeing media reports slowly come in

it it rolls,  they will ofc market it 400m whatever,  we know once they market it anything 400m . it  sends lotto fever into everyone and they go right to 500/600 range

we have at lest 3rd largest jackpot in history if it rolls past this one

i think with only 2,  5-0 winners this last draw, its just matter of luck of numbers fallin

as we sure won't past 50% of all number combo's sold,

      Saturday, November 24, 201222 · 32 · 37 · 44 · 50    + 34$325 Million

and 2 person who said 99m atfer all taxes, wrong ,  try 119m atfer full 39.6 full rate,

also   don't u dare put obamacare tax in here,  that don't apply here,  bro, that's for freaking   tax on investment income.

why the tax is bad, applying it 2 something as a lottery win is madness in accounting error.

govt can have there 70m + in taxes, if your getting 119m

u ,your kids, your future grind kids, and the great grind kids can live  off of this thing

100m invested into near anything decent and safe will see a nice return

u can even  spend 19m   buy everyone u love a nice little home/car.whatever

invest the rest at like 4% or anything return rates, and i don't know how the hell u can blow that. wait i do................

just ask Andrew “Jack” Whittaker . that man found out how to waste 315 million jackpot

here the sad part, he was rich before the win, mwhahahaha

how in hell he did it is sure amazing to read. look him up in lottery post search,

Interestingly, joshuacloak, a few of the top jackpots listed [in this entire ranking] as SINGLE state selling the winning ticket, were actually a ticket held by lottery pools 7-30ish players in size.

[Not that I currently advocate joining lottery pools.  Instead, I recommend not even promising to share, OR forming/joining immediate family members' lottery pools.  Though I think it fine to, after winning, invite up to four 18+ year-old family members/friends to claim the jackpot (in a lesser % than myself) on the official lottery headquarter's claim form.]

      Shocked

Nice lake front home in a gated community.

        Audi R8

        That's a pretty small lake.

        Canoes only, probably.

                Gotta be the Texas barbeque.

By the way, there are now more yankees in Texas than native Texans.

As the old saying goes, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could."

I'd move there just fer the brisket.

Can't get it like that nowhere else.

In fact you can't hardly even get it no kinda way around here.

Poor plan, helpmewin. Because, upon death, that jackpot winner's estate would be charged HUGE Federal or State Estate Taxes on all remainder gross monies [also, the remaining lottery annuity monies must be converted into "Lump Sum" then placed into the heir(s) checking account(s), that simply adds to the tax attorney and estate attorney's fees]!

See, lots of reasons why it's been years since any PB or MM jackpot winner has collected as "annuity," only lump-sum makes sense for a myriad of reasons.  There is no escape from a prudent jackpot winner from feeling the urge to make and follow annual budgets for life.

I think I would put half of that money in a charitable trust.

My 3 largest charities would be:

1.) Setting up safe havens in every state (more locations) so people will give up a baby vs not having it or injuring it.

2.) Work with charities to come up with a master plan to reduce the homeless pet adoption (no kill methods) and develop a nation wide system for moving homeless pets out of kill shelters to temporary homes when their time is up.

3.) Help for the elderly in staying in their own homes as long as possible and more good housing for low income elderly.

Of course, my apartment in Paris is still on the table.

                          http://www.green-acres.com/en/properties/15435a-orsay.htm

Giving my dog up after I moved in to a place that didn't allow pets was one of the hardest things I ever had to do (eight years later and I still tear up). Luckily, I found Greener Pastures No Kill Animal Rescue. They will get a nice junk of money when I win Powerball!!!

So far, a lot of LP members are talking about what they would do for themselves if they won the jackpot. That type of money comes with a social responsibility that extends beyond one's self and close friends, family, etc.

                          When I win:

                          1) Donate, donate, donate!!!

                          2) Open a nonprofit for low-income single parents that are students in higher education (providing free child care--evening and weekend; housing; transportation; etc.), so they can be self-sufficient, productive members of their communities.

                          3) Buy a car with headlights (may seem self interested, but I will save lives by not blinding people with my highbeams--the only working lighting system in my car).

I grew up living the lavish lifestyle (driving benzs, living in Europe, designer clothes). Then, I had a reality check when I grew up, had children, and decided to teach my daughters to be independent (i.e. by not to continuing to mooch off of my parents). Being poor is the best thing that ever happened to me :)

This current run is moving up faster then the big mega million jackpot and the big poweball jackpots that were previously hit. This run has had 12 rollovers now while the big mega million one was a result of 18 rollovers. The big powerball one was the result of 15 rollovers. just one more rollover here and i think you will see the jackpot higher then the poweball all time record. 2 rollovers and the mega million record will be beaten. Can you imagine if California had been able to play the last month abd noone had hit how high the jackpot would be sitting at right now. I think right now the jackpot is sitting at about the same amount it was after 14 rollovers with the previous powerball record one and this is with 12 rollovers so its growing bigger at a much faster pace. Plus with current mega million jackpot be small this should just add to the growth of this.
