LANSING, MI — According to the Michigan Lottery, the Fantasy 5 jackpot is riding an unprecedented hot streak, claiming 43 winners since April 7.

The latest winner came Wednesday night (Aug. 6, 2014) when a ticket holder in the Metro Detroit area matched the winning numbers: 6, 15, 23, 30, and 34. The ticket was purchased at Meijer, 3710 Dix Hwy, in Lincoln Park.

The jackpot is worth $100,000.

That marks the second straight day someone has won the jackpot, which is set at a minimum of $100,000, but continues to build if no one wins that night.

On Aug. 5, a Wayne County woman, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased her ticket at the Canton Party Store, 43431 Michigan Avenue in Canton. She won $105,000.

"Including the latest winners, players have won more than $6 million in Fantasy 5 jackpots during this incredible hot streak, winning more than two jackpots per week on average," according to Jeff Holyfield of the Michigan Lottery.

The biggest jackpot during the streak came on July 2 when a Fenton man won $418,739. The player bought his lucky ticket at the Lakeside Market, 2242 North Long Lake Road, in Fenton.

On July 18, a Garden City woman won $283,109. Ramona Biegas bought her winning ticket at the Meijer located at 37201 Warren Road in Westland.

"It was the first time in six years that my three daughters have all been in town at the same time," Biegas told the Michigan Lottery. "We had planned a girls' day and got pedicures before stopping at Meijer to pick up some last-minute supplies for a barbeque. I wandered over to the Lottery counter and picked my five numbers."

She played her birthdate and the birthdates for her grandchildren, husband and mother. The winning numbers: 13-22-25-28-29.

With her winnings, she plans to pay off her home and take a trip with her husband to Las Vegas.

The Michigan Lottery hopes to hear from other winners. The winning ticket holders from the April 26, July 21, July 28 and Aug. 3 Fantasy 5 drawings have yet to claim those prizes. Those winning tickets total more than $500,000 in jackpot prizes.

April 26: $159,835, bought at the Dearborn Amoco Service Station, located at 22096 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.

July 21: $110,000, bought at the Meijer, located at 3610 Marketplace Circle inRochester Hills.

July 28: Two winning tickets will split $105,000, one bought at the BP, located at 34901 Ann Arbor Trail in Livonia; one bought at Ric's Food Center, located at 705 South Mission Road in Mount Pleasant.

Aug. 3: $138,056, bought at the Meijer Gas Station, located at 7149 East Saginaw Street in East Lansing.

Holyfield said the lucky ticket holders should contact the Lottery's Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237 to set up an appointment to claim their prize. Tickets for Fantasy 5 are valid for one year from the drawing date.

Each Fantasy 5 play is $1. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot guaranteed to start at $100,000.

Fantasy 5 drawings are held at 7:29 p.m. daily. The deadline to purchase tickets is 7:08 p.m. each night.

The problem with moving to Michigan is that would put me too close to a branch of my mother's family that we have cut off contact with them.

Otherwise, I would take the chance, and hope to win something.

Rather than move there, wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to just fly over and load up on tickets for the next draw?
Chances are, your relatives wouldn't even know you were there.

My numbers are on a streak too!  The numbers I played since 2004 have yet to hit for $100!   Yay

I also have numbers that I have played in the 6/xx games that I started playing with the 6/44 game.  Those numbers have yet to hit for more than $5!!!  That's a 28 year losing streak who hoooParty

Course I have been on a losing streak longer than that which started with those Red, white and blue pre printed tickets (before the 6/xx games even came out)
