UN makes power play against Trump:

International governments have made a power play against Donald Trump by ratifying an international climate deal earlier than expected, effectively preventing him from “canceling” the deal as he has promised to do.

The European Union’s Tuesday decision to join the Paris climate deal will push the deal over the threshold for ratification; it will formally take effect in 30 days.

That means Trump, should he be elected president in November, could not “cancel” or renegotiate the terms of the agreement.

President Obama committed the United States to reduce its emissions by 26 percent to 28 percent by 2025 as part of the deal. The agreement is nonbinding, so Trump would be free to ignore it if he wins the White House.

Some say Trump’s rhetoric about the deal helped speed up ratification.

Most officials expected the climate deal, negotiated in December in Paris, to take effect no earlier than next year. A similar international climate accord, the Kyoto Protocol, wasn’t ratified for five years.

But the specter of a Trump presidency appears to have spurred the deal along.

        Stack

Which lottery did you win in 1995?  Release your taxes and I will believe you.  Clinton's surplus had nothing to do with

his policies, he was just in office when the web came together.   Bill, George, George and Obama are all related.  Tax laws

provide incentives for high risk investments or no one would take risk, except maybe lottery players.  How much of that

lottery win do you still have?  Hilda hates the under educated and thinks they are deplorable.  Trump loves them because

they do most of the work in this country.   You don't have to have a advanced degree to contribute to the economy and as

I see it,  all but a few politicians are bottom feeding scum.   Many never did a real days work in their life's.   The one thing

I do know is that without current tax laws Trump might be broke and working as a sub contractor instead of employing

thousands and thousands of people all working and paying taxes.  Employers pay tons of Taxes every year, even Trump.

It's his personal taxes that are in question and I see no problem getting a tax break spread out over many years to recover

considering how much his efforts have contributed.   Look at the walmart Walton clan, they support Hilda while not paying

their employees enough in wages to stay off food stamps.   I was a structural engineer in the USAF and one of my jobs was

to approve outside contractor projects before final payment was paid.  Many times I rejected the product because these

people were total screw ups.   I suggested they pay the material + labor cost and that was it, ie leaving the contractor

with nothing to show for his/her sloppy work, some however produced superior work.  I am tired of people who don't have

a clue all using crap to run him down.  I guess when there is nothing good  to say about your horse then that's all that's

left.  I spent close to 20 years in or around construction and guess what, Trump's slurs are nothing.   Now days people are

confused, some don't even know their own gender.  Going out on a limb here but maybe they should buy a mirror.  If they

have a penis, then it's certain which group they belong to.   Gender is not something that should confuse us.  IMHO that is.

        RL

If there is a point you're trying to make, you did a terrible job.

"I was a structural engineer in the USAF and one of my jobs wasto approve outside contractor projects before final payment was paid."

        OK?

"Many times I rejected the product because these people were total screw ups."

You just said that was part of your job.

"I suggested they pay the material + labor cost and that was it, ie leaving the contractor with nothing to show for his/her sloppy work, some however produced superior work."

Was part of your job giving suggestions to "total screw ups"?

"I am tired of people who don't have a clue all using crap to run him down."

Run who down, the "total screw ups", the general you worked for?

I find it odd you had a very important job like the one you just described, but don't use sentence and paragraph structure making it next to impossible for the "total screw ups" understand your rejections.

About Trump's PTSD remarks, you said "I am a disabled veteran and I know exactly what he  meant." and while I can understand working with "total screw ups" can be very stressful, it's not even close to what combat Vets go through.

"We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated”.

That's what Trump said after winning the Nevada Caucus. Apparently you want the leader of the free World decided by the "poorly educated".

The topic is the BC Lottery is taking bets on the Presidential election.

Talk about delusion of grandeur, one of Trumps poorly educated supporters believes the "main bulk of the topic" is anything dr65 decides. Seriously, we all know Trump "loves the poorly educated", but is it really necessary to childishly call other LP members "trash" hoping Trump will love you?

"Consider yourself inducted to the hall of poster waste."

Good comeback! You really are impressing all the other 12-year-olds with your thrash-talking, Maybe they will elect you fourth grade president. Wink

How about that, a Trump supporter just said "Pence wins the debate".

Who would have thought that would happen?

I see a couple questions here.

"Was part of your job giving suggestions to "total screw ups"?

My job was to do onsight inspections and make recommendations.  I passed on my report to those who I assume

reviewed the information and made decisions on what happened next.

"I am tired of people who don't have a clue all using crap to run him down."

Really, you need to ask?  I missed placing a comma between clue and all.

"We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated”.

The press and crony polls claimed Trump supporters were undereducated.  Trump was making a sarcastic remark after

his supporters were basically referred to as idiots.

About Trump's PTSD remarks, you said "I am a disabled veteran and I know exactly what he  meant." and while I can

understand working with "total screw ups" can be very stressful, it's not even close to what combat Vets go through.

I had both peace and war time assignments.   Being a engineer in the military is not the same as in civilian life.  It's easy

to see you have no respect for the people who have actually served this country.  Reminds my of Hilda.

I guess my lack of education is the reason I don't take time to use proper form.  What kind of moron even looks for

stuff like that in a lottery forum?  Oh, oh, oh, I know, Stack.    Funny thing is,  I could go for weeks, months or even

years pointing out your mistakes in grammar etc... I was a bit surprised you would even bring that up.

Trump Tax Attorney: 'He Didn't Understand the Code':

An attorney who oversaw Donald Trump's income tax returns in the mid-1990s said the Republican presidential candidate had little interest in the tax code — contrasting with the billionaire's claim that he understood taxes "better than anyone" who had run for the White House.

"As far as I know, and that only goes through late '96, he didn't understand the code," said Jack Mitnick, a former tax adviser for Trump, in an interview with NBC's TODAY. "Nor would he have had the time and the patience to learn the provisions. That's a lifetime of experience."

Mitnick oversaw Trump's income tax returns in 1995, portions of which were published Saturday by the New York Times. The documents showed a reported loss of nearly $916 million — a deduction tax experts hired by the newspaper said was so large that Trump might have legally avoided paying federal income taxes for up to 18 years.

Trump responded to the report on Twitter: "I know our complex tax laws better than anyone who has ever run for president and am the only one who can fix them" — a stance he has repeated on the campaign trail.

Mitnick, however, told the TODAY show Tuesday that Trump was "not at all" involved in the 1995 filing.

"He was interested in the bottom line, not the detail," Mitnick said. "Staff under my supervision did his returns - he had no involvement in the preparation."

Mitnick, a CPA and attorney who did taxes for Trump from the 1960s to 1996, said that when Trump was married to Ivana, she was the one more likely to ask questions about how the taxes were prepared. Mitnick said that Trump's father Fred was very detail-oriented, while the younger Trump was more of a "concept" man.

"He knew that we would produce the lowest possible tax for him within the law. And he never went into the details," said Mitnick, who said it took him six months to prepare Trump's taxes. "He understood that he had to rely on us to generate the returns, that it was beyond his knowledge."

There is nothing in the Times report to say whether Trump used tax rules to avoid paying any federal income taxes following the 1995 filing.

Trump Tax Attorney: 'He Didn't Understand the Code'  Part 2

Mitnick said all of the documents published by the Times appeared authentic, but did not confirm whether Trump used his business losses to offset personal income taxes in 1995 or the years that followed.

"That's a conclusion you have to draw for yourself. I won't comment on that," he said.

He added: "You're making a false assumption. You're assuming that the loss was generated in '95. Without the detailed schedules from a return, I can't even tell you of my own knowledge, when the loss arose."

He also criticized the Times for "extrapolating" that Trump could have avoided taxes for nearly two decades. "it was impossible for anyone looking at one page out of the '95 tax return to extrapolate forward and say that for 20 years he wouldn't have paid any tax."

Mitnick said that he and his accounting staff acted "in accordance with the law and regulations" to yield the lowest possible taxes for Trump.

"I thought it was wrong from a philosophical standpoint," said Mitnick. "But it was the law. It's what Congress enacted. We would be derelict in doing our duty if we didn't use it."

He added: "There are all kinds of provisions in the tax code that favor one group or another. And, by definition, they're unfair to all the others."
