I'm with you all the way until burning the flag.  You would "encourage" people to burn the flag of the country that provides the ability to speak your mind?  Very disrespectful.  Burning the flag says to the world that you are at war with the country -- not that you're a peaceful protester of some social issue.

think about it Todd. I know you are an educated man.
what do you think would happen if someone actually tried pulling that
stunt, in the VFW parking lot on the 4th of July..?

for the record, I would never burn the American Flag.

People have died for the flag. Flag bearers, POWs who took pains to make American flags out of whatever threads they could find, many more. Pro- flag burning types have no concept and I doubt there's anything they would willingly die for.

    US Flag

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I noticed that.  He's not only exceedingly ignorant, he's humor deficient as well.

He couldn't make it as a fisherman, so he decided to suck off the govt. teat.

When you live in some areas, it is not unusual to have work dealings with government reps. I can honestly say I found 80% of them to be illiterate and subpar. Any of the ones who were intelligent, went to private industry after 3-5 years, and often at less pay and benefits and more hours. That is a myth about them being underpaid in comparison to their private industry counterparts. Most are not qualified to survive in private industry. I have seen this first hand many times.

I know it's not politically correct, but if I saw someone pulling a stunt like that, I would not be upset if the members of the VFW took the idiot out back and teach them the price of their stupidity.  Because that's not protest: it's a mean insult to people who lost dear friends who were shot and killed before their eyes defending that flag.  Put yourself in their shoes, just as you'd expect others to do for you.

Typical insensitive lib. Just like when Michelle Obama whispered during a flag ceremony, "all of this for a flag?" I will never forget that comment.

that was kind of the point...

its like the silly college girl who turned her back
                    during the national anthem.

yes, she had the right to do so.
but had I have been her father,
I would not have been proud of her.

it was not only disrespectful, but hipocritical.
the very same country that gives you the freedom
to pull such a stunt, and you turn your back on it?

doesn't make sense to me either.

I hear they teach that logic on campus these days

maybe Artist, CTor MT can explain that to me.

I'm very glad to hear you feel that way.  So if you feel that way, why would you "encourage" people to do something you don't personally believe they should do?

I mean, if you were ambivalent about someone burning a flag then I can see you saying "go for it".  But as someone who finds it abhorrent, why encourage others to it?  Stick with your principles! Thumbs Up
