Tracy purchased the $1 ticket at a lottery machine in Spokane, Wash., and opted to let the "Quick Pick" feature choose his numbers. As he was walking away, he realized he'd been given the same numbers twice. "You're supposed to get two lines for a buck, and both lines were the same numbers," Tracy said. Officials say the odds of that happening are about one in 14 million, which is double the odds of winning the actual jackpot. (Based on Washington's Lotto ticket price of 2 plays for $1.) The duplicate numbers — 9, 11, 13, 28, 30, and 49 — didn't end up winning Tracy the jackpot, however. The actual winning numbers drawn on March 9 were 13, 15, 27, 28, 33, and 47. What would you do if you received a quick pick ticket with duplicate numbers? Would you demand a refund or keep it for good luck? (Click to display full-size in gallery)

Answer: All of Them! A mind once stretched by a new idea never returns to its original dimensions!

Maybe that would be a repeat as well Integrity: There is no substitute. I always wanted to know..... if so many tickets were quick picks, how come a lot of them ended up having the same numbers. Kentucky United States Member #32651 February 14, 2006 9675 Posts Offline | Kentucky has a new game called Quick Bucks that's a 4/31 + 5 game. Because matching one of the five bonus numbers pays $2, they have a $5 "wheel" bet that gives players all five bonus numbers giving a $2 win guarantee. It's still a $3 loss, but for $3, players have five chances to win up to $50,000. I purchased a "wheel" ticket the first time I played and each ticket had the same four numbers in the same order, but each with one of the five bonus numbers. Don't know if a wheel always produces the same five numbers in the same order, but when I play, I use a play slip.

Same store, same numbers, same time of day............. Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.
There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Bring back the balls and put the drawings back on T.V. for all to see that Washington State is not stealing from it's players! I've said this for the longest and it proves it's self every once in a while...

Grant it something went awry to have both sets of #'s the same. I see that this lotto is RNG for the drawings and that is crappy.

For the vast majority of players, it will never happen, but with enough people buying tickets, a few will beat the odds. Too bad there's no prize. *Assuming the numbers generated are truly random.

Exactly- It's like being a 16 year old teenage boy, asking your gorgeous neighbor's daughter out on a date, and her twin sister chipping in by saying " You'd have to take me along as well,we function as one." Do you refuse or take her up on it? * Voice of Reason * * People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it- George Bernard Shaw.
