BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Lottery will celebrate 30 years in July and will try to break a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people scratching scratch cards at once.
Jeff Anderson, the Idaho Lottery's director, said, "Those who come, the public is invited, they'll all get one ticket to scratch for free and leading up to that event we've got the fastest scratcher in Idaho contest going on around Idaho and there will be 128 finalists who will come to Boise from all over the Gem State on buses to participate in this."
The event will be at Payette Brewing on River Street in Boise on July 19 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Entrants must be over 18 years old to participate.
At the celebration, there will be live music, food trucks, Lottery sized-prizes, and free Lottery Scratch tickets. The winner of the "Fastest Scratcher in Idaho" Scratch-off contest can win $1,000 in Lottery tickets. The event is free and open to the public.
Participants get to keep the scratch tickets and claim any winnings.
Sounds like this could be a fun party. Will Brad Duke, a Power Ball winner, be there?
I hope that the Guinness World Record is made in Idaho.
Records are made to be broken.
Sounds fun, I'd take a free scratch-off. Fastest scratcher in Idaho contest...I wonder if just scratching off the barcode counts.
With all that scratching going on are they going to give out free Lanacane?
(Tanks justxploring)
No, but these:
Good one cottoneyedjoe.
Justxploring hasn't posted since 2015 but she has a wild sense of humor.
There was a thread about something like "You know you're playing a lot of lotto when...."
and she replied with, "I'm playing so many scratchers my doctor told me I need Lanacane."
