JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi Lottery Corporation (MLC) has unveiled a new look for its website and officially introduced its brand on social media in advance of its anticipated launch of scratch-off tickets by December 1.

The MLC website, www.mslotteryhome.com, premiered this week sporting what the lottery calls a "fun, new look."

"We have a website visually appealing and easy for our players to use," said MLC President Tom Shaheen. "The product you see today is the result of a great deal of research and plenty of hard work from our team."

Shaheen also stressed the value of social media in the company's branding strategies.

"Many people seek their news updates outside of traditional sources," he said. "Our social media presence on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter will target those audiences with updates on new games, company information, winners, customer feedback and general fun, interactive efforts. The MLC is in the business of offering entertainment, with the primary focus of benefiting the state of Mississippi and encouraging responsible play. Our website and social media platforms uphold those values."

You can find the official MLC on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the handle @TheMSLottery.

Sounds like they are being pro-active for its players and that's a good thing.   I'm going to take a look right now.   Thanks Todd for posting.

The faqs address anonymity -- winners' names will not be disclosed without written permission from the winners.

Didn't read FAQ's; two folks from there asked on FB about that matter and will go back and address that for them.

Mississippi should have had a lottery 20 years ago. To me, its lonely, & empty without the lottery.

In most states, the minimum age to buy lottery tickets is 18. In MS, it's 21.

Probably because the legal age to gamble in their casinos is 21.

Arizona, Louisiana, and Iowa have 21 as their legal age to buy lottery tickets too.

From the FAQ portion of the website:

Is it possible to win the Lottery and remain anonymous?

In accordance with the Alyce G. Clarke Mississippi Lottery Law, the Mississippi Lottery will not disclose the identity of the person holding a winning lottery ticket without that person's written permission.

Nice :)
