Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation board member Morris Fair has died in Memphis of complications of treatment for esophageal cancer. He was 74.

Fair, a Memphis financial executive, was one of seven inaugural board members appointed by Gov. Bredesen in summer 2003.

The board hired the games' first chief executive, Rebecca Paul.

After his cancer diagnosis in September 2003, Fair still attended meetings of the board despite his declining health.

Bredesen will name Fair's replacement on the board.
