An Alabama man crossed the Tennessee state line to the Conoco station and came up the big winner in the Lotto 5, walking away with a $131,527 jackpot.

The Huntsville, Ala., man purchased his ticket at the Conoco on the Huntsville Highway at the Tennessee-Alabama state line.

His ticket matched all five Lotto 5 numbers to win the jackpot.

The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on Jan. 20 of this year. At the end of its first fiscal year, after just five months and 12 days of ticket sales, the lottery had raised more than $123 million for education.

All Tennessee lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in the state, which initially include the HOPE Scholarship program.
