My Analysis Charts Explained
I plan to once again share with Lottery Post members and guests my analysis of the 13 states that I have databases for and that I predict every day. I just started the databases (I used to have an extensive one for California), so I don't think there are obvious patterns yet, but I want to put an explanation here in my blog so that I don't have to do it many times in the forums. In the past I could post from my Excel spreadsheets and they looked very nice. With the ed...

the KWHILBORN experiment (setup)
As any interested hack scientist would, I plan on trying out the concept of transmitting and recieving numbers as described by kwhilborn... I have made up a cool visual aid, a local copy of the powerball results page with blank white and red balls for the next draw (yet to happen). If I can manage to attain an alpha state (whatever that is) and 'see' the numbers pop into the screen (if it's even that obvious, somehow I doubt it), AND write down what I thought I saw, then record it in...

Rigorous testing means no surprises...
And coders don't really like surprises! (Unless a pick you generate happens to match the draw results...) Tested all 14 games against the universal classifier script in 3 modes 1. With offset and window set to 0 2. With offset of 0 and window of 21 3. With offset of 10 and window of 21 This was to ensure that all games work, AND that the data slicing was correct when introducing non zero values for the offset and the classification window....

Some of the odder spreadsheets I have made
The one that jumps out first is the one that imagines the draw to draw differences by position onto a grid, measuring both the angle (positive or negative) and the line length to connect those points. I honestly had no idea what was going to be done next... but it was a valuable lesson in using the index/match formula. The angles and line lengths were pre calculated from every pair from 0-0 to 9-9. A lookup table was created, but instead of using Xlookup I went with index/match. Tur...

Tools that I use in this hobby
1. spread sheet! Ever since getting into this hobby going on 3 decades ago, the main go to tool for developing ideas has been and continues to be a spreadsheet. I use Microsoft Excel every day at work, but at home I use the free Open Office Calc spreadsheet... it does most of the same functions and formulas... and it's free. 2. Dia. This is a free program that lets you create both flowcharts for program flow AND entity relationship diagrams for data base wo...

Interesting idea when displaying the pick 3 data...
So, the concept is known as multi-level sorting. It is in spreadsheets under sort where you can apply a sort criteria, then apply a second sort criteria, such as the then by fields in Microsoft Excel. As it stands now, my display is sorted by the digits 0 through 9, so I have to go back to the left column to see which digit the output is describing. These are buffered in a list so that when the function is done, it can display the rows side by side....
