Over 600,000 posts (and counting)
Lottery Post hit yet another milestone, with more than 600,000 posts on the forums. It has been a challenge to keep the technology running smoothly as the number of posts ramps up, but I think it's been pretty good. There aren't too many forums out there with 600,000 posts in the active portion of the database. Once a certain quantity of posts is achieved, most forums only keep a small percentage of the posts in the active part of the database, and archive the rest....

I was happy to see this morning that Lottery Post is now listed among the most popular IE9 add-ons in the official Microsoft IE9 Add-Ons Gallery: http://www.ieaddons.com/en/popular/ (Counting down from the top, it is #18 right now.) Lottery Post Web Server Update
Day by day I continue making progress on the Lottery Post Web server, in my attempt to restore things back to normal. (For those who weren't aware of the issue, I'd suggest reading this post first.) It's been a very long week since this whole thing started, so I guess I'll just start by giving some insight into the problem, and then talk about where we're at. Last Monday the primary Lottery Post web serve...

Scale
Scale: to measure, to pattern, make, regulate, set, or estimate according to some rate or standard. Is this all that we have become that we should be measured here at Lottery Post by a standard that is pre-determined by the webmaster of this site. Should we have something to say when those standards do not lean in one direction or another. To me I see no need for validation from any one here in this existence. My point of why I choose to participate in posting a...

I have to clear something up
The other day a three-post LP member decided to sabotage a thread started by an LP friend of mine, with 24,000 views and 500 replies. I reacted angrily saying his ilk was making Lottery Post suck. He succeeded in sabotaging a good thread. It is locked now. Lottery Post does not suck by any means. I wouldn't be here if it did. I apologize to Todd and all Lottery Post members for that remark. However I stand behind what I said about his kind not helping LP in any fashion....

Please give Lottery Post a "+1"
If you check the top of any page at Lottery Post, you'll notice a +1 icon appears next to Recommend Lottery Post , just under the blue menu bar. That's Google's new +1 system, that is used to recommend valuable Web sites to others. I have included Google's introductory video below if you want to learn more about it. Please help out Lottery Post by taking a few moments to give it a click. If you're not already logged into...

Inserting Images Into Messages at Lottery Post
After receiving several requests for information about how to insert images into a message at Lottery Post, I have decided to write this tutorial. It provides very basic information, and is in no way the definitive source for Web information, but should be a good place to start for the uninitiated. Feel free to comment and/or ask questions, and I'll do my best to update it, if necessary. The Member Home Pages feature for premium members is a largely untapped resource...

How to get rid of the dreaded pound sign
This is my next installment of technical blog entries dealing with technology-related techniques I've created during my re-architecting of Lottery Post. Lottery Post is built from Microsoft technologies, including ASP.NET 2.0 (running on IIS 6.0), SQL Server 2005, and Microsoft's Atlas technologies, soon to be called the Microsoft AJAX Library, ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions, and ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit. This entry deals with an issue that some people may not know about, others...
