It is a very good thing from a players perspective. Where can players find lower odds to win a million dollars? Remains to be seen if there will be a last minute rush to buy raffle tickets. The other thing is that D.C. Pick 3 Midday and Evening draws have been all singles for month of April, and D.C. Pick 4 Midday and Evening draws have been all singles for month of April. Currently the only D.C. draws with a reasonable combo distribution for month of April are the Late draws for Pick 3 and Pick 4. D.C. does not have a Late drawing for Pick 5. Originally I thought that the DC Lottery was only picking singles for every single drawing. It's unlikely but possible. Then you posted a link to the TN Lottery's software glitch where only singles could be drawn (thus, the unwinnable tickets). So I looked at the recent drawings for the DC Lottery and found five counterexamples in just the last four days. Clearly, this is not a software glitch. They're just random numbers behaving in a random way.

I think it's worse than just gasoline. Higher diesel prices affect the cost of everything you buy. Unlike food (for everyone) and housing (if you rent, and there's property taxes if you own), much of America's gasoline consumption is optional.
