Idaho lottery suggestions
I live in Louisiana and play the Louisiana lottery(Powerball and Lotto) regularly, and occasionally play scratch offs. I'm going to be in Idaho for a seminar relating to my job for a week and was wondering if there are any lottery games anyone would recommend. I see they have Powerball there, and they have Hot Lotto. I checked and there will be a store near my hotel that sells tickets, wonder if there are any worth playing. Thanks!

Which way would work best?
Whatever state you're a resident of gets to collect income tax on all of your taxable income, assuming that state has an income tax. Any state is entitled to collect income tax on any income earned in that state, again, assuming that state has an income tax. If you win with a ticket from a state you don't live in and that state does have an income tax you'll definitely be paying income tax to that state. Most states (probably all, but I'm not positive), will give you a full credit for the tax

Which way would work best?
Long time lurker, first time poster. It was a bummer for me this morning. I bought Mega Millions tickets in Idaho and Washington. None of mine were the big winners. I recently moved to Idaho near the Washington state line. I moved here from Las Vegas because of my job. I have kept my Nevada drivers license, I will eventually move back. Immediately upon jackpot win, LOL. I've tried to figure which way would be best for when I win :). Should I be buying my tickets in Washington (no state

Sucessfully staying quiet?
I'm still amazed that the Washington couple and the Idaho lady with the psycho husband that won the massive Mega Millions jackpot last month both came forward to reveal themselves. Not a smart move, IMO (especially for the Idaho lady) unless they had no other choice.

Speaking of residency, most states have some kind of residency law that if you are living and working in their state for a certain amount of time (30 days?) and are going to be staying there for a while, then your drivers license should reflect that. It really sounds like you are an Idaho resident, so keep yourself clean and legal and on the up and up and change your license to Idaho, get Idaho auto insurance, so on and so forth. If you really do win a sizable amount in a lottery (by sizeable

Are there some lottery machines better than others in picking winning numbers?
I wouldn't call any where in Idaho the hub of lottery activity, but today someone from Idaho has $120 million before taxes. It's pretty obvious if 70% of the tickets are sold in big cities, over time 70% of the jackpots will come from those cities.

Another Raffle
They're having a spring raffle in Idaho as well, but it is for one $500,000 prize and then a bunch of smaller prizes. But Idaho has a lot less residents then Florida so the amount of tickets and prizes are a lot less. For the past couple of years, they've been doing the millionaire raffle during the winter, but I guess they decided they were popular enough to have one in the spring as well. I wasn't going to buy any tickets but they were only $5.00 each instead of the usual $10.00, so I bought 4

Do You Ever Travel A Far Distance To Buy Lottery Tickets?
Don't know if this counts, but once in one day, I bought tickets in Idaho and Colorado and I live in Louisiana. I was on a trip for business to Idaho and I bought tickets at a convenience store near my hotel, then on the way I home I had a layover in Denver, and tickets are sold in the airport, so I bought some Colorado tickets too. Then after getting home, bought some Louisiana Lottery tickets. Didn't get any winners though.
