best way to manage a lottery pool?
Put your rules in writing and have the pool members sign them. I run a few pools but the rules are pretty much the same for all of them. When I catch up with technoloy, I will scan the tickets into the emails. If you want a copy of the spreadsheet, send me a message. Here are my basic rules: Pool Name Pool Buy-In Receipt The 20 people below have paid $5.00 to join the Pool Name Lottery Pool run by YOU. Each person has read and understands the rules of the pool and agrees to abide

Online Lottery Pool
Recently there was a post by Cyrus wanting to join an online lottery pool. Why not form one here on Lottery Post if enough members were interested? RJOh made some good points in replying to Cyrus' request. Butt if you've ever tried to get family, friends and coworkers to go in with you, you have probably found that it is hard to keep it together with everyone playing consistently enough for it to be a true pool. So many excuses. They have to have more than a passing interest and want to do it no

Joys of running a lottery pool
In my pool, we haven't had to deal with that yet. One time we won $52, which was enough to pay for an additional pool. I took a poll asking if the members wanted more tickets, a free pool, or cash and most voted for a free pool. If we win an amount large enough to be taxed, I guess I'll do a distribution. We have 11 people in our pool.

questions on pools & past experiences
I don't see much need to address the specific problem of a member dying. It's a given that dying means you're no longer part of the pool. If the pool wants to admit a former member's spouse, that's no different than adding any other new member. As far as somebody dying while in possession of a winning ticket, I'd lump that in with the plan for all tickets purchased by the pool. Once the pool buys tickets, the tickets need to go somewhere safe, and the pool will need to figure out where. Havin

Are lottery pools legal in Michigan?
gmcroman,There are several lottery pool MLM programs that are legal and a few that perform well. As far as starting a lottery pool as an individual I recommend doing in depth research and developing a contract for participants. An illegal lottery is usually set in the context of having to pay a fee to enter into it where lotteries that are free to enter are not bound to the same policies. What I am suggesting is that a safer route is to operate a lottery pool for a lottery that is free to ent

*spin-off* Lottery Pool and buying your own tickets/same numbers
So the question was asked, you are in a lottery pool and you are not allowed to buy your own tickets. I answered that. But here is a curve ball on that question. I run a powerball pool and you are allowed to buy your own tickets. I buy my own too, but not when I purchase for the pool. What we do is pay for advance plays for the month and they are all QP, and I email the tickets prior to the first drawing of the month. But what if one of my players decides to get a ticket for themselves (
