A doubt on scratch tkts
When I go to encash a winning scratch lotto ticket, what the retailer does is he scans a bar code on the back of the ticket (There are 2 bar codes, one for POS and another one for checking if its a winning ticket) and then you hear the music and it displays winner.......etc . Now my doubt is, if finding out the winning ticket is so simple as to scan the bar code on the back, how do we know that the retailer has not already scanned all the bar codes of all the tickets he has for selling and tha

retailer on long island tries to scam 1 mil
Yep! Yep! One does have to watch some of those Store Clerks, especially here in New Jersey where I am. One incident I've personally experienced when buying scratch-offs was the clerk after opening a new package of scratch offs, didn't validate them or key the package code numbers in on the lottery machine before selling them. Low and behold I bought one of them, but did not scratch it off until I got home. It turned out to be worth $50.00 so, I decided to redeem it at another store. Surely enoug

TAX... lower tier prizes
A $100 a hand Blackjack player could win $1200 by breaking even after 24 hands. Is it the intent of the IRS codes that all casual gamblers and lottery players must keep records of every hand of Blackjack or every scratch-off ticket and declare every winning hand or free ticket as income?

are clerks supposed to scan scratch tickets before you pay?
Where I buy my tickets, everything is scanned for the cash register including candy bars and papers before I pay. A different scanner is used for scanning lottery tickets for winners and if they are scratch-offs, the codes have be uncovered before it can read them.

Scratch-Off Games
Actually bingo, keno, crossword, and a few others are all pretty similar in play. Match a group of numbers, letters, or symbols, to another groop. I really like those becasue they take a while to play, and for the extra cost ($2 to $5 ) per ticket, I want to get my money's worth of playing time. There are also similar games (like Battleship and Fortune hunter) where like the bingo caller numbers, rub the squares, and get co-ordinates. (like spread sheet cells) . Match to the play area grid

KY players
Also if they are scratch offs they have codes the stores activate that show the tickets are being sold at their location. Kentucky had trouble with thieves ripping off tickets at one store and traveling down the road to cash in winners before a stores could alert everyone of the stolen tickets so stores stopped cashing tickets they didn't sell.
