Who is Sam Bankman-Fried and Why Are The Fed's After Him?
Good points Stats... Could be SBF is trying to get a head start on influencing a jury. You're correct SBF has not been charged with any crime....not yet anyway. That said, The Fed's are looking at the whole mess, and my guess is they are proceeding slowly so as to be in a position to present a solid case to a US Attorney that the prosecutor believes there is enough evidence to present the case to a Federal Grand Jury for an indictment, and ultimately gain a conviction in a courtroom in

Who is Sam Bankman-Fried and Why Are The Fed's After Him?
It's the essence of a con game. Why is it called a con ? Because the guy who is a con artist is also known as a confidence man . The whole idea of any scam is for the criminal to gain the victims confidence so as to be able to steal their money. But SBF is not a Con Man. He's a thief. He took his clients money out of their accounts without their knowledge and invested it in some highly risky investments that failed. (by the way the money for those risky investments was not used to purc

800 million dollars
I know many people don't like the fact that they have to pay a good chunk of money to financial experts . After all nothing says the financial adviser you hire is very good at what they do. There excellent advisers with a good track record, and there are advisers that out and out stink at what they do. All of the above said, there are some things in life where going it alone or doing it by yourself is a bad idea. If your identity is stolen you're far better off with a company such as LifeLoc

Which lp member did you think would best handle a major jp win ?
Very true.... no financial adviser has a perfect track record, they all have managed to lose the clients money at some point during their careers. Investing whether done by a financial adviser, or if you do it yourself, involves risk of capital. The best you can hope for is that you have an adviser who is honest, knows what they're doing, and has a good track record. It's on the investor to find that particular type of adviser, and to be capable of understanding exactly what it is the adviser is

Oh, those pesky leading 0's!
Probably tried to be too clever using a fictional character whose name looks like Zero but his mortal enemies are like the Knights Templar, Knights of Odessa, Knights of Columbus, or something like that. Should have used the obvious character, Zero from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Yep, by using Vtracs, zero is low and even. *And not related to Agent 47

Wouldn't common sense tell you to wait for the check before speaking?
What if she had already received the money? I am not following the obsession with her acknowledging the setup and speaking before she got the check. You seem to be suggesting she should have waited for the money ....which was never coming to her...and fled. Common sense to wait for the money before speaking. No. It was irrelevant. What difference would it have made? She had already committed the criminal act. Her statements were not needed at this point to prove the theft since she had alrea

Do lottery employees read our posts?
They're truly fascinating to me too, especially the responses with regard to data privacy. Although I understand that data privacy is a huge issue to millions of people, I've never cared about it much at all. From a standpoint of identity theft it's important to me, but to the best of my knowledge, my identity has never been stolen. I've taken all the steps that are recommended by experts to protect myself from it, but even those same experts admit my identity can still be stolen. I'm sure if

Who is Sam Bankman-Fried and Why Are The Fed's After Him?
There might be a few LP members that have heard the name 'Sam Bankman-Fried' in the news but haven't been following the story. Although Sam's story has nothing to do with the lottery, it's a doozie of a story, so I thought I'd put something out here about what he did, but explain it in plain English as it's a very complex financial story involving crypto-currency's such as Bitcoin. Sam is a thirty something type of guy with a huge head of hair...a real mop top . He was also a billionaire, bu
