Mega Millions jackpot closes in on $1 billion
14th-largest lottery jackpot in history
By Todd Northrop
The Mega Millions multi-state lottery game continued its jackpot run last night now approaching $1 billion when no tickets matched all six numbers.
Last night nobody won the Mega Millions lottery drawing, triggering another jackpot rollover that created a Friday jackpot estimated at $965 million with a cash value of $445.3 million.
To get to this massive size, the jackpot has been growing since it started on July 1 as a $50

New Millionaire for Life multi-state game coming in 2026
This is a non starter. 1st Problem: Computer simulation with no ball drop. 2nd Problem: Top prize isn't nearly enough for a $ 5 line. 3rd problem: Daily Draws - 2-3 times a week is max. Summary...MUSL apparently doesn't believe their own numbers after looking at the revenue loss on Mega Millions. IF they made the Cash Ball a multiplier of the jackpot that would spice it up tremendously (They would still have 1 as an out). Remember the Tennessee Cash 3 Double numbers problem (where doubles were c

Divine windfall prompts immediate decision to give away everything
By Kate Northrop
A Virginia woman who won a $150,000 Powerball lottery prize with help from ChatGPT has donated all her winnings rather than pocketing the money.
A $150,000 personal windfall from Powerball was not at the top of mind for one Virginia lottery player, rather it was giving back that had her making quick moves to donate the entirety of her prize.
Carrie Edwards made waves when she won a $150,000 Powerb

Arizona Lottery adds $4.5 million to The Pick jackpot to celebrate 45th anniversary, new Pick 4 game
Would be nice if Louisiana Lottery would listen but they won't. While we've had a Pick 4 game since 3 1 1999, it would be great to have an optional multiplier like Powerball for our Lotto.
Arizona used to print out a free booklet left at the lottery retailers detailing in each county improvements made thanks to the players, it had color photos accompanying a page for each improvement with a description, I don't know if they still do that.
A shout out to Louisiana: that would be called g

An Illinois mother of four had luck with a particular lottery game in the past, and it motivated her to try purchasing it again for it to result in a $200,000 win.
The winner, who goes by the name Bingo Lady to relay h

US Powerball multi-state lottery game expanding to the UK
You are conflating two different issues.. The lottery, and the tax on income.
THe Lottery organisers don't pay the tax on winnings. They withhold an amount because the winner is liable for income tax. Then the winner pays any extra they might owe...
Americans get to pay up to 37% because that is the top rate of a set of variable rates...
nonresident aliens get to pay 30% on any winnings over $500 (or is it $600)... That is a flat rate..
If I won $50,000 in a US lottery, I w

Powerball lottery tickets go on sale in the UK on July 21
Since MUSL is exporting Powerball to UK, why don't they import Euromillions with all its trimmings to USA.
Since they don't sell Euromillions in the US I don't really pay any attention to it, but the name makes me strongly suspect that it's not a UK game. That would mean the UK has about as much chance of exporting it to the US as Rhode Island has of exporting MM to the UK.
You said Jackpot will Grow faster the sane thing was said about Mega Millions until reality hits.
