Three $1 million winning Powerball lottery tickets sold at the same New York store
I've had people say to me You're crazy for playing the same line of PB numbers multiple times. Adding The PowerPlay option makes it even crazier because that ticket costs you 3 bucks for each stinkin' line! Oh yeah? The current Florida Lotto jackpot for Wednesday October 29th is $1,000,000 . The odds on wining that million dollars is 22,957,480 to 1 . (Or I could add The Double Play for an additional dollar to win $1,250,000. A Total of $3 per line) I could also use that same 3 buc

Three $1 million winning Powerball lottery tickets sold at the same New York store
While it is unusual, people buying multple identical lines isn't all that uncommon. We don't hear about all the times that it was done but it didn't produce a jackpot winner. We only hear about it when it wins big. In New York City, especially Brooklyn, many savvy players buy multiple tickets with the same set of numbers. They do it a lot with Take5 to reduce the pari-muteul aspect of the game. Many times I've read the Top Prize Winners report published on The NY Lottery website that showed

Three $1 million winning Powerball lottery tickets sold at the same New York store
Very true but the question I have is did they buy three separate tickets using the same betslip for each purchase, or did they purchase three lines on one ticket using one betslip? As for me, I use one betslip to play five identical lines of five numbers on one PB ticket, with a different PB on each line. I also add the Powerplay option. The article states There were three winning Powerball tickets for the second-tier prize in a drawing last week, and all three came from the same store

I think it is highly unlikely it was three separate winners. As above, the lottery already knows if all 3 wins were on a single ticket, multiple tickets played together or in a short time span, or 3 (or more) tickets played over a longer timespan. Since there was nothing special about the winning numbers even having 3 winners in the entire state would have been unlikely. The chance of 3 randomly chosen tickets at a single retailer is basically zero. It very well could have been someone

$1.7 BILLION: Powerball jackpot juggernaut keeps rolling
I believe last time I checked with the guy running the pool on our total return up to end 2020 he said it was like $1200 To give you an idea of a reasonable minimum, the current odds (with some minor rounding) for the last two prizes are 1 in 92 and 1 in 38. If you've got 80 people spending $5 per drawing you're playing 600 tickets per week. Probability says you should expect to win 6 8th place and 15 9th place prizes each week. That's $84 per week, and $4368 for a year. For prizes with hig

Winner of $877,800 Idaho Cash jackpot is infamous bulk buyer
Idaho legislation moves along bill to ban bulk lottery ticket purchases By Kate Northrop The Idaho Lottery's initial suspicions that a bulk purchaser was at play during a jackpot run that resulted in an $877,800 Idaho Cash win were correct when it was confirmed that an entity known for executing jackpot buyouts came forward to claim the prize. In response to restless national sentiment surrounding the nature of jackpot buyouts and a recent $877,800 Idaho Cash win, Idaho state legisla

Winner of $877,800 Idaho Cash jackpot is infamous bulk buyer
How is this any different than an investment group buying stocks to gain an advantage over time in the marketplace? Because anyone else can also buy the stock, and the investment group buying the stock doesn't reduce the value of shares owned by others. It's not rocket science. That's not true. Every ticket has the same chance of winning. In the case of the scratchers nobody else had a chance to buy the winning ticket. In the case of draw games the prize value is reduced if a bulk

$1.7 BILLION: Will Powerball create a Christmas billionaire?
Yeah, if this happens again next year ... I surmise there will be discussions about changing things up. Let's hope they don't go the mega millions route with $5 tickets. Maybe they could axe the Monday drawing .... Maybe they could offer 3 dollar tickets with pp included on every ticket Maybe they keep the 10 x pp and make it available @ 300 and under or available all at any jackpot amount Maybe maybe maybe Have a shaggy day ShagE3
