Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
Traverso said. If people don't see people winning the lottery, then they won't buy tickets. ... Would you please back your baseless assertions with facts Mr Traverso ? Only six states allow lottery winners to remain anonymous Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and South Carolina Mr Traverso where is the Data on how far ticket sales have plummeted in the six states in this article that allow privacy? Surely you must have it and be able to back your assertion w

Player in Tennessee wins first Powerball jackpot since game changed in Oct.
Golfer1960, Sounds like a bargain to me and I live in an area called Bargaintown. LOL $5666 for that property at 13891 Old Hickory Rd. in Antioch TN.is not bad at all, I'm paying almost $9600 for 3000sq ft 4 bd 2 1/2 ba. on 1/3 acre. But oddly enough that property you picked is just 6.5 miles from where the winning ticket was sold. Anyway, thanks for that map, Delaware at #47 is looking better all the time.

ILLINOIS LOTTERY MOVES TO COMPUTERIZED DRAWINGS
I don't think we need to go as far as shutting down all, just need folks to vote with their wallet RNG = do not play. Problem is... some occasional players don't even know about it. Some may not think about it each time. I plead guilty to the last item, earlier this year I bought some HOTLOTTO on a trip to Delaware, didn't know it was an RNG game cause we don't have it in Jersey. Later looked at LP's lotto report card and will not repeat that mistake.

Powerball changing in October to generate bigger jackpots
This will backfire, most players are after the JP and couldn't care less about the lower prizes. How many times do you hear about 2nd prize winners that didn't play the MP ? And some don't even know there are lower prizes... the casual players that only buy when the JP is outsize, isn't that who they're trying to attract ? I was only playing when I could go to Delaware for tix. after the change when I do that it will be MM only. MM having slightly better odds for half the pri

Extradition trial begins this week in $16.5M Hot Lotto fraud case
RJOh, I almost never see a live drawing Xcept PA has theirs on just before jeopardy, but I never have PA tix. Jersey's draw comes on a diff. channel @ 7:59 PM and I always forget, by the time they draw MM and PB I'm asleep. I was in Delaware to buy PB and MM cause they are anonymous, and bought a 10 draw advance on HOTLOTTO on a whim, then looked it up here on LP, that's when I realized my mistake. I suppose you're right about them dressing it up, sounds like that would

Deadline passes: $16 million Powerball jackpot goes unclaimed
The 180-day window passed late Thursday with no one coming forward to claim a $16.66 Powerball jackpot from a ticket bought in Hillsborough County, Florida. The ticket was sold in May at Carrollwood Market, a convenience store at 4550 W. Village Drive. The ticket was worth one third of a $50 million Powerball jackpot drawn May 25. The two other winning tickets were sold in Delaware and Louisiana. The winning numbers were 2, 6, 19, 21, and 27, with Powerball number 25. Some of the unclai

$400 million S.C. Powerball winner to stay anonymous
This story does not match up with what I was stating... The only states that appear to allow their lottery to keep a winner s identity secret are Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota and Ohio, according to the site. Arizona is not listed here!!! This man tried to stay anonymous in a state that doesn't allow it. Has anyone been outed from the anonymous states listed above? I still have not heard of that...

Delaware couple anonymously claims $50M Powerball jackpot
Hi Haymaker, I guess you're right but it shouldn't be that way in this case. The Freedom of Information act applies to all states but Delaware won't release the names after one year due to the safety and privacy of the winners. Other than that, there is no good reason to let the names and identities of the winners out into the public domain. If I win, I shouldn't have to move or hide to protect myself and my family. I hope NJ understands that. Other than that, how you doing bro

Lottery Post announces Lottery Results Gadget for Windows Vista
I won't be upgrading until after the first of the year, but this is going to save me a lot of time. I check the PowerBall results every Thursday and Sunday, and MegaMillions every Wednesday and Saturday. I also check the daily results for South Carolina, Delaware, Virginia, Florida, Michigan and Ohio. All of these are in my Favorites list but, since I still use a dial-up modem, it can take a while to scroll to each link (I'm too lazy to organize them more efficiently), and I can usual
