Bill to allow Pennsylvania lottery players to claim anonymously passes unanimously in Senate
I think all winners should have the option to remain anonymous. I read all of your posts and think that if you were to win a large lottery jackpot and went public with your win, you would still have problems with bank employees. Unfortunately some people of color with large amounts of money in the bank, will always have problems with some bank employees. Going public as a lottery jackpot winner will not solve that problem. A person's bias against another will not be solved that way.

$1.58 billion Mega Millions lottery winner has two weeks left to claim cash option
It's possible that the winner wants to take the annuity option and will claim it just prior to 180 days. Add the three months of anonymity that Florida law allows, and that's a total of 9 months they can remain anonymous. That's more than enough time to go away and hide. G5

VIDEO: $2 billion Powerball winner buys another multi-million dollar California property
It is frightening. I do not envy Edwin Castro with all this much attention. I'm grateful my state allows anonymous claiming. Unfortunately, someone's life must come to a sad end ala Abraham Shakespeare in Florida before California decides to allow players the same privilege others enjoy in many states.

Washington winner of $754.6 million Powerball jackpot claims prize
You might be on to something. What if a lottery in a state not allowing anonymous claims simply made up a name of the winner?

California winner of $2.04 billion Powerball lottery jackpot revealed
California doesn't tax lottery jackpot winners. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow winners to remain anonymous. It's really unfortunate and hopefully it won't take a tragedy to change the rules in order to keep up with the times. In this day and age, a winner's privacy is just as important which many states fortunately now recognize.
