Not that it would have helped (possibly) in the Shakespeare case but this is a prime example why EVRY state should allow the winner of any lottery amount the opportunity to remain anonymous. I live in 1 of 10 states that does not afford the winner of a lottery any opportunity to remain anonymous. The state lottery will print your name and city where you live. I'm retired from law enforcement and can't imagine the the lawsuits that would come out of the woodwork if it was announced that I won

Florida Statute 24.1051
On May 25, 2022 Florida Governor DeSantis signed a bill into law that allowed Florida Lottery prize winners of $250,000 or more to remain anonymous for 90 days after the date they claimed their prize. After that bill was signed by The Governor it became FS 24.1051.
