$1.35 BILLION: Mega Millions jackpot set to deliver unimaginable wealth
Protected with a contract. Think about it. When you buy a lottery ticket at a retailer, you have just entered into a legal contract with a stranger.

Employee strike at Québec Lottery halts introduction of new Lotto 6/49 in the province
It was a 3 year contract and the $1 was added to whatever wage increase was agreed upon in lieu of taking the profit sharing. Don't recall if they took the profit sharing when that contract expired. They still got a minimum of $6000 regardless of a profit or not.

$1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery winner's family sues him for not sharing jackpot
Its my understanding that this sara person was under the condition to not reveal anything. NDA clause , etc. No where did it say John had to keep his trap shut. Clearly he told his gf and possibly his Dad. Unsure a statement is a contract when speaking with his father. Oral contracts are hard to prove in court. Just even a slight twist of wording in the conversation will or could determine if its a contract or just a joke. I've been known to jokingly say to folks, ohh sure (haha) if I w

$1.35 billion Mega Millions lottery winner suing mother of his child for revealing win to family
Under his state law and the child courts he is required to disclose any increase in wealth. This then gets turned over to the courts for re evaluation of the adult support errrr...i mean the mislabeled child support. He did his due diligence by creating a NDA and still following the court increase. He has every legal right to enforce the contract and seek damages .

$1.35 BILLION: Mega Millions jackpot set to deliver unimaginable wealth
A lottery ticket is a bearer instrument. It is not the same thing legally as a financial contract. A lottery ticket is also backed by the state law. The state lottery is not a stranger on any level.

New Jersey woman to take legal action against Atlantic City casino after being refused $2.5M payout
This is why I have zero interest in casinos. If the prior case fact pattern is that similar or identical, sounds like a solid case. The casino hired that company, IGT. One cannot avoid liability by shifting the blame to a contract hire. This would not be a good case for the casino to take to trial.

Michigan woman didn't realize she had Powerball lottery ticket worth $1 million for six weeks
Not everybody has an Online lottery account and know they don't issue physical tickets or how most winnings are paid into an account. Having never won any prize over $600 playing Online, I don't know their process, but for prizes over $25,000, it's probably similar to purchasing the ticket from a lottery retailer. Wickett knew she won something just didn't know how much. And because she had a subscription, she wasn't worried about not having tickets in future drawings so there was no reason

Iowa Lottery retailer accuses store manager of buying ticket he knew won $100,000
The answer is simple. Number one I play lottery all the time .l can void pick3 and pick4 but l can't void powerball or mega . So the store does not have the Ability to void certain games. Number two the store get to keep the winning ticket because the store is responsible for unsold ticket based on the contract with the lottery. Matter of fact this is not the first time it happened . Another cashier sold herself a multi million dollar ticket just like this before. The store did investigation wen
