A Florida Senator filed a bill on Monday that would enact harsher penalties on lottery retailer employees who conduct ticket theft schemes and would crack down on those who falsify prize claims.

This story might be more complicated than it already appears to be.
Jawed presented the ticket to The Florida Lottery and initiated a claim on October 20.
Authorities contacted Jawed by phone on Nov. 24, 2025, and visited his home on january 5th. He was booked in The Palm Beach County jail on January 8th.
That says to me that Jawed could have been paid by The Florida Lottery on October 20th, but if they did that, then they would have withheld Federal Income Taxes from the payout. S

Maybe The Florida Lottery is simply playing it cool, but I doubt it.
Just because they haven't confirmed they'll offer one of the new games doesn't mean they never will. Maybe they simply didn't bother to confirm they'll offer one. Could be there's a bill moving through the Florida Assembly/Senate in Tallahassee authorizing it and it has yet to be sent to The Governors desk for signature. Gotta have the laws in place first.
