New Jersey Pick 6 jackpot-winning ticket worth $5.9 million expiring in three weeks
Ticket expires May 22 at the Eisenhower Exxon in Roseland, Essex County - winning numbers 20-21-30-31-42-44 from that May 22, 2025, drawing. There's also a $50k Powerball from the same day unclaimed at D'Latinos in West New York, so double the urgency for NJ players to dig out old tickets. Hate seeing these roll back into the prize pool, especially with the app making checks so easy now.

Quick back story: I do a lot of paper betting and practicing for the Pick 2 games. Decided to do a back testing w/o tracking to see how often double digits (ex 11 55 88) hit over a specific period of time vs single digit pairs.
And to my surprise/not surprise, for a consecutive 40 draws - 20 days [March 11,

Arizona Lottery delays expiration date of $12.8 million jackpot-winning ticket in legal battle
Evidently it must have been against company policy for employees to purchase rejected tickets
The stories I've seen have said the policy is that employees can't buy (any) lottery tickets at the store they work at , not just while they're working. There's also the whole deception angle of attempting to buy the ticket in the hopes that the company didn't yet know they owned a ticket worth far more than face value. I don't see any way that it was a lawful sale/purchase.
Unprecedented move

Powerball lottery tickets go on sale in the UK on July 21
Alright, let's crunch the numbers. This is where My theory gets proven with math.
---
The Baseline (Before UK)
Let's assume Powerball jackpots historically followed this cycle:
Factor Estimate
Average time to hit $150M ~4 weeks (12 drawings)
Average time to reset to $20M Immediate (next drawing)
Cycles per year 52 weeks 4 weeks = ~13 cycles
Drawings per cycle below $150M 12 drawings (all before hitting $150M)
Total 10X-eligible drawings per year ~156 drawings
