What are the odds
This what we be usin' Factorial - n! = n (n -1) (n - 2) ... 3 2 1 and 0! = 1 Permutation - P(n, r) = n! / (n - r)! Combination - C(n, r) = P(n, r) / r! Probability of Win - Wp(n, r, w) = (C(r, w) C(n - r, r - w)) / C(n, r) Odds to Win - Wo(n, r, w) is 1 in (C(n, r) - C(r, w) C(n - r, r - w)) / (C(r, w) C(n - r, r - w)) n - total numbers in lottery pool r - pick size from the pool of numbers w - winning drawn numbers in a played combo

The Powerplay Option
Hi jimmy, i'm new to the forum and am actually looking for a wheel that allows for the difference in the number pools, that is KS Cash has two pools, the set of five numbers is drawn from a pool of 32 numbers, the Cash Ball is drawn from a pool of 25 numbers, however the Dimitrov system of 11 numbers (which produces five games) does not take in consideration the two different pools... Jimmy as to your mention of he powerplay, it does make sense to spend the extra dollar becau

Mathematics and the Lottery
Math beats the lottery every day of the week...... I get 10X's BETTER ODDS on PB by eliminating 20 numbers from the 59 number pool.

return for investment
I'm trying to find the best way to wheel. If you could guarrantee 95% of the time 4+ of the 6 #'s in a 6/49 game, for a pool of 20 to 26 #'s what would be the lowest percentage of coverage one should try to achieve looking at a 4 if 5 for a minimum number of tickets or should you look at 4 if 6 . I am using Covermaster.I know the odds of making a profit on the lottery are against you, but it's fun trying. That's why I'm trying to figure the best way to wheel on the remote chance I might get LUCK

Algorithms for number selection?
Writing an algorithm will be easy once someone has done the work of coming up with the variables that are related to the winning numbers in the drawings at least 75% of the time. Also those variables much target a group of numbers small enough that most of the possible combinations could fit in the budgets of a small pool of players or a single player who doesn't mind spending a little money. Even if they don't win a jackpot, most of the cost sould be covered by the smaller winnings such tha

Algorithms for number selection?
We all hit things at different angles and just miss but some day we will collectively pool all of it into a winner. I'm surprised it hasn't already happened but I guess when it comes to winning a lottery jackpot, luck trumps good ideas every time and there isn't an algorithm for that.

Are the following odds correct?
There are 8008 possible combinations of 6 in a pool of 16 numbers and you have 840 of them, do the math. 840 8008=.104895105 or ~10%

Mathematics and the Lottery
Tell the person I know in a certain state, which I won't mention, that has made almost $700,000 bucks, If not more by now in the P-4 game playing online, that the Gambler's fallacy is true. The catch is that he does play a lot of numbers for each draw. One of his strategies is to play the remainder of the combos not shown straight yet in his state. There are about 6,300 combos that fit that category. Additionally, he'll play about 2 to 4 other smaller groups of numbers that were generated by a f

Does Mathematical Innumeracy foster superstitions and support the belief in them?
Luck of the draw, RL. The gene pool scramble gave you traits, aptitudes, abilities in one direction, gave me different ones, gave everyone else theirs. What comes easy for me comes with a lot more difficulty for others, and what comes easy for them might be a lot more difficult for me. Whatever we were lucky enough to carry into this life doesn't amount to a virtue. Just luck, pure and simple. But we're all lucky in different ways.
