Mathematics of Lotto
On the professional gablers topic:I once saw a documentary on television about a belgian professional gambler who earns heaps of money with it. The only game he played was Blackjack by counting the cards. The only problem for those wanting to become pro gamblers is that you already have to be rich before you begin. If you are not, you are gonna need a lot lot lot lot of luck to survive. This guy I'm talking about already had a big fortune before becoming a pro gambler.I believe that's reality

Math the old math can't work it's called Transparent Math
Chrissy, I'm blushing now. Thank you for the kind words. Actually I made a BIG MISTAKE (after his first few post) thinking he was a scammer. Between the programming, I decided I needed to know for myself what he was about. Yep. I was wrong about Wendel. He's not the scammer I thought. I wish he had started with some of the stories about his days as a bookie, or numbers runner. Unless he watches old gangster movies 24/7 that part sounds accurate. Been there when some drunk tells the bart

Why not all the Probability, Statistics, Calculus Theories applied all in 1 to lottery
Jimmie. When people think about anything besides baseball, television, politics, romance, the job, the boss and the rent they are stretching their minds outside the stencil. If they have to be bribed to do it by a dream of winning the lottery there's no harm in it and a lot of good might come into their lives directly as a result of learning what they learned while hoping it would help them win the lottery. I don't know, but I believe the people who post on these forums use it for a hobby. I

Gods of statistics and probability
John,In your line of work , I'm not at all surprised that you are familiar with Michael Shackleford's expertise as the self-proclaimed Wizard of Odds . He is a very gifted actuary and he seems friendly enough. At least with my dealings with him.He posted on his website that he would be on the Travel Channel in a gaming challenge. I tuned in, only to watch him lose 10k on Roulette. There was another guy playing Blackjack and two ladies. One was playing Baccarrat and the other was playing Craps.

Star power
Few Americans are aware of the immense scientific contributions of India and China. Albert Einstein wrote: We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made. The number zero was introduced by an Indian mathematician named Aryabhatta. We take the significance of the number zero for granted. Yet, until one thousand five hundred (1500) years ago, mathematicians did not realize that it was necessar
