Your're lucky to have gone into a store where they even had the new playslips available. The Publix I went into yesterday didn't have any, but what they did have was a brochure that described the new change to FF5. Fortunately for players I may have gotten all worked up about the negative impact to FF5 jackpots over nothing. From reading the brochure, it's very possible that the new additional drawing will not hurt the jackpot amount for the evening drawing. What's important is that on the n

If the lottery terminals come online at 6 AM, then they cant sell tickets prior to that time. If they went offline at 12 AM, that'd be 6 hours of the midday sales window when tickets cant be sold. If the above is correct, then players shouldn't wonder why the midday jackpots are so low. G5

The thing about Free Tickets is while there were 78,074 Free Ticket won last night, some of them wont ever be cashed in, and because players have 45 days to cash them in, there's no telling how many free tickets that were won in previous drawings were cashed in yesterday for last nights drawing. All we really do know is that last night 78,074 lines matched two numbers. The Florida Lottery knows how many Free Tickets were entered in yesterday's drawing, but I doubt they're of a mind to tell a

Very nice, G5! We've seen many of those free QP's turn into jackpots quite recently. I missed the free number! My lottery money for the week has gone to JTP and I bought 1 Powerball ticket today. I did terrible on JTP last night, not even 3 numbers on a line. I'll try again Friday as it's at a million. And don't forget about the FL Lottery Daily Doubler promotion. You can enter FF5 tickets. I threw several away before I remembered. Good luck, everyone!

I also get the fact that ticket sales for all lottery games is way down these days. You can see the effect of the high cost of groceries and gasoline on lottery ticket sales just by looking at the amount paid out for any FF5 jackpot. Saturday FF5 jackpots are $10 to 15 thousand dollars lower than they were last year. The reason FF5 has as many jackpot winners as it does is because the odds are low. They sell $500,000 to $600,000 worth of FF5 tickets every day. That produces sufficient covera

The Florida Lottery doesn't make the total take publicly available. But if players use FF5's official rules (which they make available on their website) then the total take can be calculated. Even then, when I've manually calculated the total take in the past, I didn't include the dollars that players spend on EZ Match. (That's because they don't make that amount available to the public) They split the total take 50/50. Half is returned to players via the total winning prize pool and the other h

I bought five draws with advance play each for the Evening draw and Midday. I was testing the play slips out to see what it would do. I marked 5 on the play slip but didn't choose a particular draw. Well the lottery gave me 5 consecutive draws for the Evening since it was the next available draw at $5.00. I thought it would give me the next 5 draws to cover both Midday and Evening. So i had to fill out another play slip to cover the Midday draw. Selected 5 draws on that one too for another $5.00

So if the Florida Lottery's plan by introducing a second drawing per day was to entice more players to buy more tickets, why aren't jackpots for the evening drawing higher than they are? Remember too that there is a win $25 instantly promotion happening. They're offering an incentive to players to get them to buy more tickets but still cant get more FF5 ticket sales! The majority of players are doing exactly what I do. They wait until after the midday drawing and then buy their FF5 tic

Here's a quick and dirty way to calculate a rough estimate of how much money The Florida Lottery took in for any given draw. (The Take) To win a Free Ticket the odds are 1 in 8.39 (One out of every eight lines sold wins a Free Ticket) 1 in 8 equals one eighth of all lines sold. So because there were 78,074 Free Tickets won last night there were approximately 625,000 lines sold - which translates to a little more than $625,000 of sales or the take. G5
