Florida Fantasy-5 Players
If I'm going to criticize the additional midday drawing, then I should offer what I think would be an improvement to the game. Before I do that, I have one more criticism that I'd like to share. Ticket sales of FF5 are not what they once were (prior to adding the midday draw) so adding the midday was The Florida Lottery's response to try to attract more player interest in the game. I agree that ticket sales are down, I can remember jackpots in 2020 and 2021 being in the $230,000 to $235,000

That's a GREAT question! My guess is that the only way to find out if there are two different ballsets being used is to email the Florida Lottery and ask them. G5

There is a Bogo too for several games for a free Fantasy 5 ticket - check it out on promotions on the Florida Lottery web page. Example, if you play Pick 3 on Wednesday, you get the coupon. It is only from today to 3/24. Other days, other games, i.e. Pick 4, etc. Buy one Fantasy 5 ticket, get one free quick pick. Be sure to get the coupon and watch retailers when you buy to make sure you get it.

Read up on the updates to Fantasy5. Doesn't seem like Florida put much thought into the change. Basically cut the jackpot in half. The good news is there are more opportunity for more winners. My suggestion would be to remove the roll down tier amounts and allow a jackpot to build through the various midday and evening draws. Start the jackpot at $100,000 and grow from there until a jackpot is won.

It seems pretty obvious to me that due to the fact that more often than not there is no jackpot winner for the midday Take5 drawing, ticket sales are very weak for the midday drawing. Players of NY's Take5 can easily see that if you buy a midday ticket there's a very good chance that nobody will win the jackpot, and therefore they opt for the evening drawing where the jackpot is won more frequently and it's usually bigger than the midday jackpot. I would point out however that NY has seen an

There was one winner of $161,707 in last nights FF5 drawing. That means yesterday's total take was approximately $528,000. That's for 24 hours of ticket sales, but I think the vast majority of those tickets were sold after 12 noon yesterday. The Florida Lottery probably knows exactly which hours of the day have the most FF5 sales, but I doubt they'd be interested in revealing that information. The winners pool was allocated $264,000 (half of $528,000) of which 62% was allocated to the lo

IMHO your reaction to the FF5 change is exactly how I believe the majority of players will react. There is no incentive for players to play twice a day. Why The Florida Lottery feels players will spend even more money simply because they added an additional draw each day is a mystery to me. G5

A jackpot never increases with a roll down . Jackpots increase with a roll over. FF5's official rules were not changed. The only thing that is changing is the number of drawings per day. A rolldown of the top tier prize (the jackpot) is still going to happen. The official rules say absolutely nothing about the number of drawings per day, therefore The Florida Lottery does not have to change the official rules to add an extra drawing each day. FF5 uses a roll down , not a roll over . Me

The Florida Lottery doesn't make the total take publicly available. But if players use FF5's official rules (which they make available on their website) then the total take can be calculated. Even then, when I've manually calculated the total take in the past, I didn't include the dollars that players spend on EZ Match. (That's because they don't make that amount available to the public) They split the total take 50/50. Half is returned to players via the total winning prize pool and the other h
