Maddogs Mega Millions Challenge 7/11
WB: 05, 09, 13, 14, 18, 23, 24, 30, 34, 43, 47 MB: 06, 12, 27, 37 A couple of these numbers I didn't play as I changed it at the last minute with two other ones, joke would be that including them I would have won, so I'm pretty much posting just in case that event happens so I can rant like a loon.

Maddogs Mega Millions Challenge 4/22
WB: 2-7-10-21-22-32-33-35-38-39-45-50 MB: 12-39-40-43 When one engine fails on a twin-engine airplane you always have enough power left to get you to the scene of the crash. Good luck to all; this could be the night for a great event for someone.

Question to top predictors with prize ratio more than 200%
I seldom predict or play pick3/pick4 games so my predictions are mainly for pick5, pick6 and the jackpot games. I do predict for the W.Va Cash25(6/25) sometime which distort my performance in a positive way. I do experiment with a system that I've been developing since I came to LP. When ever I've changed or add something to it, I have discussed it in either the system, discussion, pick5 or jackpot forums. I play all my predictions for games played in Ohio and some of my PB predictions when

Mega Jackpot Boredom
There was a time when a $200M lottery jackpots was an event and lots of people wanted to be part of it even if they had to travel out of state and/or stand in line to buy a ticket. Now days jackpots of this size are expected and many people wouldn't buy a ticket for any thing less and certainly wouldn't stand in line for it. The PB jackpot is $300M this weekend and usually I would be planning to drive to Indiana for tickets but the MM jackpot is $200M+ and the cash value of both jackpots ar

Finally, one's growing!
Maybe it's that people have good memories, and remember your previous posts and know that you spend a lot of time pondering the odds of things repeating in one fashion or another. What are the chances of 3 numbers from last drawing repeating? What are the odds of a winner from the same state? On and on. The answer is always the same. The odds are exactly the same as they were before the previous event happened, because the odds aren't determined by what happened last week, last month, or last

This shouldn't happen in Powerball..
Of course it should happen, and we know exactly how often we could expect it to happen. For PB there are 3,478,761 possible combinations using all 55 of the regular balls. There are 501,942 of those combinations, or 14.4% of them, that consist of numbers 18 and higher. That means that 14.4% of the time, or roughly 1 in 7 drawings, we should expect that the lowest number will be 18 or higher. An event that happens 1 in 7 times is not rare by any reasonable definition. The probability that it

Super Powerplay
This is not about the current Powerball promotion. This is an idea for a modification for Powerball. We presently have the extra dollar for the Powerplay option. Here's an idea for another layer to that. For an extra dollar on top of that (total $3 per play), you get a chance to play Super Powerplay. The concept is the multiplier would be 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x. The catch is that once the multiplier is drawn, it is removed until the 10x is drawn. This multiplier would be instead of the standard Pow

The vastness of the odds for a jackpot win...
I think what makes most folks go on is this: They think a random draw event can be predicted by analyzing past draws, to see hot and cold and overdue numbers. I can't speak for everyone else, but I play because 1.) I have the means, 2.) disposable income that doesn't impact my quality of life in the least; 3.) somebody always wins, and my belief is, one day it will be my turn to step up to the winners circle. welcome to LP!

Probabilty of Someone Winning a PB & MM Jackpot in the same Week!
One of the things I think we all agree on is that the terminology can get confusing. Odds are just one way of describing your chances, just like quarts is one way of describing how many pints you have. The odds are the same as chances at the same time that they aren't. For pick 3 the odds are 1 to 999, and the chances of winning are 1 in 1000. You have 1 quart of milk, and I have 2 pints. Different numbers telling the same story. Using your pick-4 example with odds of 1 in 10,000 (those ar
