With a jackpot of $36.5M, Ohio's Classic Lotto is looking good again
In spite of a local news stand, a couple of gas stations and a drive thur that sold lottery tickets going under, long lines to buy lottery tickets are a thing of the past. The only times I've ever seen long lines were when I would drive out of state years ago to buy PowerBall and BigGame tickets. Now that they can be bought locally, no long lines even when thunder storms knock out a couple of the local terminals. Except for PowerBall I've alway bought my lottery tickets within a half hour of

Why does New York always win MM & PB?
You can have someone in New York buy and mail you tickets, but I'd recommend they not tell the clerk at the Post Office there are lottery tickets in the envelope. It's illegal to put any type of lottery tickets in the U.S. Mail. If the clerk knows there are lottery tickets in the envelope, they probably wont accept it. You could try FedEx or UPS instead, but it'll probably cost more money. Or just have whomever keep their mouth shut when mailing you the tix!!

Prediction Threads here and in Pick5 Forum...MY take on it...
That doesn't surprise me. People who buy more than a $100 worth of lottery tickets usually buy quick picks. When you consider a small state will sell at least $50,000 worth of PB tickets when the jackpot is high and not have a 5+0 winner in the state, why would any one think their chances of getting a 5+0 be any better if they spent a $1000. If anyone has a strategy for buying $1000 worth of lottery tickets I would be interested in how they pick their combinations. Before I retired, I and som

Hoosier Lotto
Clerks see hundreds of lottery tickets sold and only a few dollars paid out in prizes every week so when they see anyone spending a thousand dollars on lottery tickets it's going to become part of the conversation with their customers who like to talk. The sad part of the story is the guy didn't appreciate how lucky he was to have one of the less than 35 tickets that matched 5 of 6 out of over three millions tickets sold. I could never figure how anyone knowing a town sells hundreds of r

If you are going to buy 46+ tickets.....
No it wouldn't defeat the game. Because the normal player buys only 1 - 5 tickets. They don't spend $40+ on lottery tickets for a drawing. When they do, like in the lastest powerball drawing...they sell $160,000,000+ worth of tickets and it is won. That is what the lottery wants to happen. If people were spending $46+ per drawing that jackpot would be huge all of the time. But that isn't that way it works and the lottery knows that. Brad

PB $88.7 million cash
In my opinion, however, your remark is irrelevant, to a considerable extent, to the issue at hand, because comparing $10,000 pay raise directly to the PB jackpot is not fair due to the difference between the two in some important characteristics, such as the degree of certainty, stability, predictability, and so on. If one hopefully can win, who wouldn't buy PB tickets even for 1M?$10 in one's hand can be MUCH, but $10M PB or MM jackpot might be perceived as SMALL, NOT because $10M by itself is

Anyone have a system for picking numbers for the Jackpot.
I know who Brad Duke is, I google his name. As far as he buying 300 tickets to win his PB jackpot, you have to check that with someone else since that didn't come from me. As far as someone not wishing to win a lottery jackpot, that's the chance everyone who buys lottery tickets take. I've always assumed if one want to avoid winning a lottery jackpot then they don't play.

What's with NY Sweet Million??
I have no other choice but to trust my brother with my SM ticket, since I am leaving NY and won't be able to get tickets on Thursday, the last day of the promo, I hope they extend it to Oct. My brother annoys me because he is buying shared lottery tickets with a casual acquaintance, but he will never share lottery tickets with Mom and I, his only immediate family since we have another brother we don't speak to (see comments below). Anyway, I told my brother that if he wins the lottery on his own
