Post your scratch ticket results
Scratch offs and a ticket or two a week from the numbers games are all I do. That's enough spending there - plus, I enjoy them much more than other gambling.

NY Scratch-off Discussion
ITA. Even $40 may be too much. $1.00 is too much when you're addicted to gambling. Gambling is like doing drugs. You get a high by betting and scratching off tickets until a winner comes up - then you come down when you are out of money. Same as a drug addict. I cringe every time I read about someone spending so much money in ONE DAY! At first I thought he was just playing a few bucks here and there, but after reading this thread from the beginning - WHOA! The poster in question isn't t

Deducting lottery losses
You can only write off gambling losses if you are claiming a win. You also can't exceed the total amount of the win you are claiming. I am sure over the past year I probably played more than the $6,300 I claimed. That is why we all need to hit the cash 3 str8 for $50 so we can get our money from the store a little at a time without paying taxes.

Second Chance Drawings
Massachusetts has been doing more and more second chance drawings with some decent prizes attached. Many are the sports themed scratch tix like Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins where you have a real decent chance at winning team gear and clothing. The newest one is for the Price is Right Ticket and has 6 drawings that give away 3200 showcase prize packs for each drawing as well as trips to Vegas. I like this aspect of scratch ticket gambling and have won lots of cool prizes. If you look at the winne

Working Scratch of tactics thread
I don't mean to come off sounding pessimistic, but it's all luck, plain and simple. I've stopped supporting the lottery because i'm just gambling my precious money to make other people rich. It may sound selffish, but I don't wanna see someone else get rich quick off of me.

Please Help "FHN" On ticket but Number Don't Match
with all due respect, if you cannot figure out a whether a ticket is a winner or not simply by reading the instructions and seeing if the symbols match or however the game is played, I suugest you try a different form of gambling. Perhaps Bingo?

Watch out for "vultures"
Yes it is gambling. But it is like playing poker and the guy next to you always gets to see everyone elses cards before he bets. Adopt their tactics? I would rather lose honestly than win dishonestly.

Watch out for "vultures"
I trust you wrote your comment tongue-in-cheek. In case you're not kidding, if you go to a casino and play a slot machine for 4 hours and then walk away, there is no rule of ethics that says the next person can't win on the first try. That's why it's called gambling.
