Jump In PA Scratch Payouts
Quinto isn't the only big change in the PA Lottery. I've done some calculations, and the latest batch of games have higher than usual payout percentages, $1 tickets getting a big boost, the other price points recieving modest increases as well. $1 tickets now pay out 65% of sales, up from 58%. $2 tickets now pay out 66% of sales, up from 64%. $3 tickets now pay out 68% of sales, up from 65%. $5 tickets now pay out 71% of sales, up from 70%. $10 tickets now pay out 75% of sales, up from betwe

getting rid of $1 scratch-offs will not help sales. it will hurt sales.

Massachusetts $20 scratcher.
MA has the best lottery in the country from what I read (as far as revs are concerned). They did lower the prize money % when the Republicans took over the lottery. However, MA taxes haven't been super high in years. Compare: CA - 9.3% on taxable income of $43,468 and above. California's minimum combined state, county and local sales and use tax increased to 7.25 percent (6.25 state-only portion) MA - A 5.3% rate that applies to wages, interest and dividends and long-term capital ga

Hi Rudeboy805, What kind of a store was it? This is actually pretty hard to quantify, since many customers don't always return to my shop to cash their winners. But if the reaction of new customers walking into my shop is any indication, I would say our avg winning ticket is pretty high relative to our sales. But you have to take into account the volume that we sell as well. We stopped displaying $100 winners about 5 years ago because we get too many of those. The only exception are new games

Hi Duckman, that's a really good question since the decision on when to scan/validate a jackpot winner amounts to a serious game with the game . When the Struck by Luck came out I wondered if there would end up growing a disproportionate number of unclaimed jackpot winners compared to other remaining prize levels but that doesn't appear to be the case (btw the $5,000 prize level info total/remaining on the Fl Lotto site for this game is hosed). This leads me to believe that many folks are simply

Emerald 10's is doing really well in sales, that will without a doubt continue until most of the top prizes are sold. Very odd that the top prize claimed is well ahead of the sales pace. The $10,000 and $20,000 prizes are well behind on the sales pace too.

HI Rudeboy805, One of the reasons I don't understand why he would remove the lottery sales from his shop is because it's a great driver of traffic to your store, regardless if you have a liquor store, donut shop, coffee shop, etc. Especially when the jackpot gets really high like it is now with Mega Millions and Powerball. You already have workers there ringing people up, why not have them ring up another $5-20 in scratcher/lottery sales? I'd rather not say what my gross sales are, but su

500x the cash sales started out very strong. As of March 15th, 3.1 million tickets sold (based on odds) in 2.5 weeks. One million dollar prizes have caught up to the odds. 1 mil dollar wins should be roughly be half of total count of 50k wins. 1k dollar claimers are still lagging. Now that the hype is over I expect sales to sizzle down like other high price tickets.

Hopefully they will sell through their inventory before they discontinue sales. The last $5M and $1M prizes are likely to be claimed in the next 2-3 weeks based on the pace of sales.
