Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I think we are basically saying and doing the same thing. You are not playing MM and are playing other games of your choice. You stay within your budget and support your other games using the money you might have otherwise spent MM. Congratulations on that! I am just throwing all MM money towards PB because the odds are relatively close and MM is 150% more costly. I occasionally throw a few dollars at the Rolling Cash 5 5/39 game just for grins and giggles when it hits a 350-400K jac

I totally agree that it's people who make things a headache. If I were to win something like Powerball, the majority would go into laddered treasury bills, with some in an S P 500 index fund. The last thing I would do is start my own business or invest in any sort of risky business venture. People go broke because they think this sudden windfall of money has given them some sort of insight on how to invest, start or run a business. If you weren't doing any of that before winning the lottery jack

"Dumb luck": Maryland man wins a second time in one year at the same lottery vending machine
He'll have no money either if he keeps buying 30.00 50.00 scratch tickets. Within 2 years the 34k he just won will be filtered back no doubt.

Florida woman's secret to winning $865,811 in the lottery is talking to her phone
I am sure she is not sad. But with all that money, her age and possible relatives who may feel entitled to it, best not to advertise eccentricities. Caution is best.

Powerball reaches $643 million: highest lottery jackpot of 2025
I totally agree with you but if you concern about them taking so much money after you win you can just take the installments which around $14 million a year for 30 years and net around $420 million if that makes you feel better. It's way better than $189 Million in my state and I'm young so I can deal with living off $14 million a year. Just a thought

Powerball reaches $643 million: highest lottery jackpot of 2025
No, how and why would they pull out and hide money paid into it. The overall interest has somewhat waned with some lottery fatigue thrown in along with they all seem to like hearing when it hits a billion and that perks up their interest so they wait. As if 500m isn't enough for anyone.

Powerball reaches $643 million: highest lottery jackpot of 2025
The 5% annual increase in payments makes the lump sum even less than it would be with constant annual payments. It pushes more money further into the future to be discounted for interest a longer time.

Pick 3 Chasers – Ohio Connect! ( 8-1 thru 8-30-25)
I have never played using one of those kiosks, but that's wonderful for you! I have found money in the self checkouts plenty of times and just turn it in at customer service when that happens. Some people have so much on their minds or are in such of a rush that they just walk away forgetting all that they were doing I guess
