Count your tickets, check numbers
Maybe you're right. When I started this thread I did give him the benefit of the doubt. However, he didn't look me in the eye when he handed me my tickets and muttered when he went through the slips and found my free ticket. Funny that we're talking about it because a free ticket DID win last night. (not mine) From the FL site: The Florida Lottery announced today that two players matched all five winning numbers in the Sunday, Jan. 20, FANTASY 5 drawing and will share a $192,644.54 top pri

Quick Picks can't match the power of Self Picks
In gambling cirlces such players are called grinders and are seen as no threat to the house whatsoever. If they win, they blow it back, if they lose they come back with more of their own $, but they come back. There is a gambling circle of sorts on this forum under jackpots, the MADDOG challenges. I believe they are a good indicator of predictors, a level playing field. There is also a predictions section, I don't see CToss or KYFloyd with nary a prediction on either, hmmmmm..... Inste

Suggested QP VS Choosing Survey Project
I see what you mean. Most winners in FL are QPs, but does that really tell us anything? It only indicates that the majority of players buy them. However, I've seen several Fantasy 5 jackpots won that weren't QPs. Is the report always accurate or is it entered manually? Florida has made so many errors over the past few years, that I believe someone might be posting the information onto the web site. Yesterday it was 50/50. The winning FANTASY 5 numbers were: 02 - 07 - 23 - 27 - 32 T

Pick 3 : When is the system "Beat"?
There are 1000 straight numbers so each of them is 0.1% and so there-fore if you would play one of them as a quick pick you would have 0.1% of winning with it, if with your system you are getting more than that then you are doing O.K, I guess. As there are 1000 numbers, at 1 win per 1000 plays (Numbers) you should only get 10.5 wins out of 10,500 and you are getting 51 wins, to me that seems to be 0.4857% when you should be getting only 0.1% if buying 1 quick pick per each draw for 10,500 dra

Why Quick Picks win...Hint: It's *NOT* what you think, folks!
Many here have observed the oft repeated assumption that QPs win because the majority of PURCHASES are QPS, and as such most of the eventual winners are QP users. I have a different take. Nobody wants to admit ( I think that drives the prejudice against QPs) that having control over your selection matters in reducing the odds of winning not a whit. Nobody wants to think that a person who follows draw history cannot even come close to the mindless terminal, because of the illusion of controlling

[C++ Code]A Quick Pick generator for PowerBall and Mega Miilions
I decided to make a very basic Quick Pick generator for PowerBall. It first asks how many you would like to print, picks 5 random numbers between 1 and 55(the white balls) and a random number between 1 and 42(the PowerBall). It then puts each of the white balls into numerical order and displays the results. If you want the results to be saved to a file called QuickPicks.txt, change the line that has: //PrintToFile(); // Uncomment to print the results to QuickPicks.txt to PrintToF

Protecting your numbers
Quote: Originally posted by Visar on June 13, 2006 Quote: Originally posted by Prob988 on June 13, 2006 I use a similar strategy. For many years I kept a file on certain types of lottery drawings and wrote a computer program to process them, accounting, among other things, for their frequency in drawings that resulted in higher than average numbers of winners. No such program is infallable, since the majority of tickets sold are quick picks, but you can increase the liklihood that if your numb
