Michigan man arrested for impersonating lottery worker, stealing tickets
Look at that guys rap sheet. Everything from car theft, heroin and bank robbery. They let him out on a $10,000.00 cash bond? He'll do it again and why not. Maybe next time he'll kill someone over a winning ticket. We've seen that before.

Offshore gambling site laundered $2 million in Amazon gift cards, Feds say
Was bound to happen sooner or later. That's why I never used this service. Was never willing to chance having to forfeit any money that I might happen to have in one of their accounts that might be subject to government seizure or operator theft.

Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
Most states have different policies on the amount of info they release on a winner. A few will only release first and last name, so if you are a John Smith or something like that you can remain perfectly anonymous. However, some states will require a photo of you with a check release your full name, street address, date of birth, and possibly even social security number. States like that leave winners open not only to physical danger, but also identity theft!

Would you claim your Jackpot winnings through a Trust or Not?
Maybe the best thing to do is wait around 3-4 months to claim your winnings. There is nothing wrong with setting up a Trust. But be very careful as to who you put in charge of that Trust as there are cases of theft involved.

Lottery windfalls can buy anything except anonymity
People here always say it's very unlikely, but I don't believe that at all. Identity theft is already a huge problem, that's without being a confirmed halfbillionaire. Look at the Sony data leak and how many people already ran into problems with that.

It's time the lottery needs to stop releasing a person name and picture when a big win is won!
The paranoid fear of lottery fraud doesn't trump a winner's right to privacy and personal safety. There are documented cases around the country of winners being robbed and even murdered by strangers and acquaintances - who got the winner's personal info from TV, newspapers, websites etcetera. Not to mention that in the internet age, criminals can access a substantial amount of sensitive information about a person by simply googling their name and county of residence. This can and frequently d

NEW YORK Instant scratch off tickets
The Cadiliac game doesn't make much sense for me at least, not living in NYC. 4 top prizes of 500k and a CTS. I assume you have to pay taxes on the car, I know you have to pay taxes on the 500K. Then there is the expense of owning a car in NYC, gas, cameras, the threat of theft etc.

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Great day yesterday on the $20 game. Tickets 1-12 contained 2 break evens... 1-8 all losers... Got 13 today and it was another break even. Looks like this game is risk $20 and if you beat the odds you get your money back most of the time. Looks like legal theft to me...
