Mega Millions constant $10 million increases
The sad part is there probably making the same if not more with the new increase. I dunno though.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
While the revenue is being talked about and consideration is being given to what percent is being generated at a certain dollar value, people are also not including the starting point of $50 Million which, IMHO, is another bells and whistles gimmick in this new improved MM version from MUSL. Starting at $50M already puts you up 2+ draws on any previous jackpot, whether its the MM or the PB in the last decade plus.

No winner again: Powerball jackpot hits $1.6 billion in longest-ever rollover run
Estimate was way off.
They missed by even more in than MM missed back in October 2018 when they advertised a $1.6 billion jackpot and only managed 1.537. Depending on the metric you choose PB missed by almost 2 1/2 times as much as MM did. MM advertised an annuity increase of $600 million and missed by 10.5%. Powerball advertised a nominal annuity increase of $250 million and missed by 26%.
Could be an indicator of lotto fatigue.
Jackpot growth has definitely slowed down in general

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I am with you with the old-timed concerns. Here I was expressing ADDITIONAL concerns.
I am used to see that the sales percentage increase v. the same day of the prior week should go up once the jackpot increases.
If what they projected in the excellent file you linked
https://www.texaslottery.com/export/sites/lottery/Documents/jackpotestimates/mm20251104.pdf (thanks for the link, did not know it)
is true, they would have a +13.3% in sales v. the prior Friday.
The 4 prior dra

Sounds to me like the author doesn't know much about how lotteries work or appreciate that the results of just 3 or 4 jackpot runs may not be representative. The headline screams that he's missing the clue that even if PB sales were up (they're not) due to MM's price increase it's still probability that results in billion jackpots.
The average PB jackpot should have a cash value of about $195 million

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Lets face it, you know Mega Millions is now increasing their revenue with the jackpot at $800 million,
For the same advertised jackpot MM's revenue per drawing at $5 per ticket dropped below the revenue per drawing at $2 per ticket a few drawings back. Revenue for Saturday's $800 million jackpot was a hair under 70% of the revenue for the last $800 million jackpot in August '24.
Total revenue since the price increase is about 1% more than for the same time period in 2024, while revenue

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The Mega Millions jackpot increased by $34 million to $576 million after 31 rolls. There is an estimated 2.7% chance the Mega Millions jackpot will be won in the next draw whereas it is double at 5.4% for Powerball. This is the largest jackpot increase in the current Mega Millions run for two draws in a row. In both cases, it was mainly to an increase in interest rates.
This is the second largest Mega Millions jackpot since the launch of the revised game but well behind first place at over $
