South Carolina Lottery begins accepting debit card payments for ticket purchases
I'm the same way. I used a card one time at a lottery vending machine and I had immediate regret after doing so.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Well, apparently Idahoans haven't cut back on lottery due to price increases. The small Fred Meyer I go to just installed a THIRD vending machine. It's a small enough store that they only carry about 75% of the products the other stores in town do. So I bought my MM for tomorrow night from the new machine and got a 10X. Just the 10X feels like good luck, so we'll see if it holds.

I'm done playing the lottery
I don't see how a vending machine problem is the retailers responsibility.
A vending machine is a way for a store o sell tickets and collect the commission without paying an employee. Why shouldn't equipment the store uses to take your money be the store's responsibility?
Lottery retailer responsibilities. This is per Fla, I would assume other states have more or less the same rules and regs.

I'm done playing the lottery
I had a similar run-in with a vending machine in PA last spring. I'd put in $20 and got $12 in tickets out when it suddenly rebooted. In PA, the vending machines are just giant tablets, so I'm standing there looking at a blank gray screen with the operating system starting to load. I turned around and gave the lady behind the counter a WTH look and she said, Yeah, it's been acting weird all morning. Would've been good to know that BEFORE I put my money in. Of course I didn't say that because I'm

I'm done playing the lottery
I have had lottery vending machines take my money before and the store I was at usually fixed the problem by either giving me scratch offs from the counter or giving me my money back. That isn't something the lottery handles, it should be the store with the vending machine fixing it. They are operating it and not some representative from the state lottery. The employee where you went didn't want to deal with it, you should have asked to speak to a manager.

Three $1 million winning Powerball lottery tickets sold at the same New York store
I'm sure the lottery already looked at the stores security cameras along with ticket print times to know if it was only one person or not. Not sure if New York has vending lotto machines, but I had a issue once with a Michigan Lottery vending machine and customer support looked up the transaction from the last 4 digits of my debit card. The Lottery knows but there not going to give that info out for security reasons.

Lottery vending machine
I've used a lottery vending machine in Colorado but I only play QP. The screen has number buttons on it if the player wishes to choose the numbers. I don't think it will accept play slips but the next time I use one, I'll check it out.

I'm done playing the lottery
If someone can convince me why I should continue playing their stupid games, I'll reconsider.
I hear that for an extra $1 you could win $2 million.

I'm done playing the lottery
I rarely play draw games. The house edge is ridiculous and the odds of winning are absurd. Usually I play the scratch-off games, and I am particular about which ones. When a certain game is only available at that stupid vending machine that has made its way on my ban list, I'm left with nothing to play.
Yesterday, before I started this thread, I went to the convenience store down the street and tried to buy the $3 ka-pow bingo. They had none.
This idiotic state lottery makes way too many

I don't see how a vending machine problem is the retailers responsibility. If there is a mechanical or electrical issue with it which there obviously is, how is the retailer supposed to fix it?
I would go on their contact us page https://www.coloradolottery.com/en/about/contact-us/ and send them an email explaining the issue or call again and ask to speak to someone other than a customer service rep who is just going to blow you off with an It's the retailers responsibility excuse.
